Actually, I was talking about a tribe of black, African Jews, from Africa. You're right, Whitney's family is from America...as are a lot of adherants. I don't know if Whitney's family is actually a PART of this tribe or converted or whatever.
Sorry for not making myself more clear.

I just saw this on Fox news.
Whitney and Bobby are holding hands next to Sharon. Whitney is next to Sharon, he puts out his hand for a couple of seconds, her body backs away from it, ( she didn't take a step, but she stiffened up) and after an uncomfortable few moments, Bobby shakes Sharon's hand.
Whitney looked at his hand, as if she didn't know what in the heck it was. It was totally bizarre.
But then again, I only saw it with my own eyes, I could be wrong.

You're forgiven, if you can forgive ME for assuming you were posting with an agenda. Welcome to FR.Thanks, cake_crumb, for exemplifying FR traditional courtesy.

What would the media say if, say, Britney Spears went to visit her "friends and family" at a Ku Klux Klan community?
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Are Whitney and Bobby members of the Black Hebrews? The article doesn't say, or I missed it.
I was wondering what Bobby's head dress is all about, religious or what? LOL! All these affectations really confuse me.
now now now. lets stop fighting over the caption folks.
everyone knows whoever has been here on FR longer is right.
BUT...there is a caveat. You are not AUTOMATICALLY right.
you must first post the following info about the junior (to you) member: "__(member name)_" "Since____"

How do people come up with these stories? Too bad people cite FR as the place they saw them.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
It's so sad. They are both so stoned.

Likely she does. Uh....it's not exaclt a cult. Before Israel would let this tribe (which was being exterminated by African Muslims) take refuge in Israel, their claims were checked thoroughly by the most respected experts in rabbianic law. IIRC, the consensus is that their tribe split off and continued it's cultural/religious evolution seperately from what is considered Judaic Orthadoxy today.
You probably mean the Ethiopian Jews, sometimes referred to as the Falasha.
There's actually a sizeable Ethiopian Jewish community here in L.A.

Where does it say she DISSED him? I think there may be another explanation, but, gawd forbid I ruin the fun.
Among the Orthodox and Hassidic Jews, there is no physical contact between sexes. Exceptions, of course, are made for married couples and among family members (and I know I'm opening myself up for a bunch of incest jokes here, but I'm talking about a father hugging a daughter, etc.).
She may have decided to go, pardon the expression, whole hog (how un-kosher!) about it, although, as far as I know, Sharon isn't Orthodox or Hassidic.
When I'm among Orthodox Jews, I never, ever, offer to shake hands with a man or attempt any physical contact. It's a matter of politeness.

Imus was talking about this story this morning. Whitney was just skin and bones. They were also joking about how she refused to shake Sharon's hand.
BTW, Ethiopian Jews are the lost tribe of Dan.

Whitney was just skin and bones.Such a tragic waste of talent.

I'm familiar with what they're wearing. My flippant comment was just a very week attempt at humor/put down. I was actually thinking "Why?" Having not read anything associated with this picture, I wasn't aware of who they were visiting.
