FYI!!!!
Castro spokesperson and all around anti American actor to surface at the New York Society for Ethical Culture (the NYSEC - why doesn't it surprise me?). this Weds. MAY 28 in NYC. See info below for exact location. Glover was just in Havana a couple of times ago with Harry Belofante where they denounced the US and signed some silly manifesto supporting Stalinist tyranny.

Tidbits for some thought.
Dan Glover was an anti war activist. He is also the spokesman for MCI (WorldCom)
YET:
Go Excel Global, Inc.: Telecom Market Briefs
May 16, 2003
1. WorldCom Awarded Iraqi Reconstruction Contract
Reports are circulating that WorldCom has been awarded a $50 million
contract to build an interim
wireless network in Baghdad with a capacity of 10,000 subscribers.
WorldCom, which is the largest supplier of telecoms
services to the US government, was awarded a similar contract to build
a wireless network in Afghanistan. The move
to award the company the Iraqi contract has angered a number of
activist groups who claim that the federal
government should not do business with WorldCom in the wake of its $11
billion accounting scandal.
WorldCom/MCI is benefiting from the war? Being rewarded for corporate scandal?

I'm no fan of Danny Glover's politics, but to say he is "to surface in NYC" is a bit of a melodramatic stretch. He's in NYC every day. He's doing a play on Broadway. "Master Harold and the Boys."

(Some background)..WorldCom wins government contract
[Communications Update 20 December 2002] It has been a long time coming, but finally WorldCom has something to celebrate with the announcement that it has secured a USD360 million contract from the US Department of State. The ten-year deal, dubbed SPECTRUM, will see WorldCom deliver international private lines, IP and ATM protocols to the agencys offices around the world. The contract emphasises regional approaches, strong network management, vendor accountability, managed satellite services and support and maintenance. In addition, under the terms of the contract, WorldCom will be the preferred provider for new Department of State communication programmes.
