Republican pollster David Winston was the first to identify the shift from Soccer Mom to Security Mom and he warns 'What these women are looking for is solutions to make their families and children safer.
It's about solutions, it's not about partisan bickering'
Democratic political consulant Rachel Gorlin agrees, 'We cant criticize what the Bush Administration is doing unless we make it clear that the criticism is toward a new and improved approach -we are turning people off.'
It is that kind of impatience with point scoring politics that nettles women like 31 year old Stacy McDaniel, who stockpiles water and canned goods in San Diego, and plans an exit route when she goes to a ball game.

Democrats don't know how to approach 'National security'. They think they can gain credibility by attacking Bush but people trust Bush and that makes all the difference. They distrust Democrats naturally on national security. They would have to turn the debate into a substantive discussion of ideas, not petty partisan needling and they don't know how to do that.

Perhaps your fear more a macho hunk like Gephardt. The last session of congress Gephardt was absentfor 85% of the votes. No doubt preening himself for the '04 presidency run for the roses. If he suceeds in getting his parties nomination ... which I doubt ... his absente record in congress will be used against him. Will a part time congressman be a part time president?

Don't have any facts to back me up, but I'd bet lunch money on the "likeability factor" being the most underrated ingredient in political candidates' winning elections - especially POTUS. (Who do you want to "have to look at" for the next four years?)
In a close race, I believe it's a big factor.

Syndicated talk show host Neal Boortz rails against the XIXth Amendment every now and then for exactly that reason. I'm pretty sure he's serious, and he makes a pretty good case.
That said, Dubya on the deck of the carrier in a flight suit re-broadcast 100's of times nailed the soccer mom vote for 2004. There is no one in the Dems ranks who is going to remove Bush as Alpha Male with that crowd.

Throughout the ages, Socialism can be attributed to the influence of women voters and women in government.
There is no Socialist like a Feminazi.
But therein lies the secret to winning for the GOP.
Does a Feminazi with a penchant for carpet-munching respect tolerance, sensitivity, power-sharing and limp-wristed male floaters?
NO! They despise a weak male!
Surprisingly, they instead ONLY respect the iron glove of a ruthless tyrant, morals be damned.
Bush is inadvertently firing their hormones and winning their respect by being a strong, bold leader. That he is principled, and right, is a sidebar story to these immoral twits.
Oh well, let every vote count!

Someone described Kerry as a "clean-shaven Abe Lincoln on the day he learned his dog died".!!!! ROFLOL!!
But I still think he looks more like a clean shaven DOG! (And his wife is off the deep end.....she described him as 'feral!')

Bush is inadvertently firing their hormonesYes, and he apparently is firing the hormones of the male gay community as well.
It's disgusting, and pretty scary (especially to Laura, I'm sure.....who probably never had to worry much about nags and gays hitting on him before.....), but if it leads to a landslide victory, so be it.
What's most important, is that he has earned the respect of moral, God-fearing men and women across the country who will vote for him because he is a strong, honorable leader, and THAT'S why he's going to win.

Mother's know best.
This is some forum. With such a lack of respect for woman and mother's. Bill Clinton has that same lack of respect for woman. Hillary would love to take the children away from these mom's and raise those kids right !!!!!
I have 2 Soccer Mom daughters and they are far from airheads or uninformed . Why isn't any one mad about all these stupid sexist remarks ?

Why isn't any one mad about all these stupid sexist remarks ? I used to get upset about some of these sexist remarks, now I just ignore them.
But keep in mind since you're new to this forum, you're not familiar with our humor. We poke fun at Soccer Moms because they were the bulk of who the dems were courting and getting votes from.
Certainly we are aware that there are some Soccer Moms out there who do have a brain but it takes away from the fun when you have to qualify each poke with, "Not all women or Soccer Moms are...."
Welcome to FR, it just takes some getting used to. :-)
