OPERATION INFINITE FREEP: Richmond, VA, May 24, 2003, Buh-bye Women in Black!

The last scheduled Women in Black protest was Saturday at 1 pm, May 24th. Having been unable to accompany them on their marches for several weeks now, I was eager to arrive at the Museum of Fine Arts with my new sign: FREEDOM IS NOT FREE, THANK YOU VETERANS! It is 30" x 40" with a silhouette of a soldier saluting 4 aircraft with the American flag in the background. (I think it is called the missing man formation.)
The WIB's had already started down the Boulevard when I got there. After a little huffing & puffing I got within my usual half block distance behind them. What a let down! Only 10 WIB's and a poodle! Down from their former numbers of 150 to 100, they were able to march quickly across the intersections and before you know it, we were back at the Museum for the meditation circle.
Mr. McDonald was able to join me for a portion of the FReep which was nice. I stood at the end of the traffic median and got lots of waves, thumbs up and honks. People from the Synagogue waved, a Viet Nam Vet spoke to us about his experiences: "We could have won that war," he said. Two women from the Abortion Mill came out to read the sign. An angry young man looked at the sign and yelled, "That's not true!" I said, "I'm sorry you feel that way, sir." And I sincerely meant it.
Your FReepin' Friend, Flora
P.S. On the spur of the moment, I decided to FReep the "Peace Vigil" on Friday, May 23rd, at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Richmond. It was raining. There were 2 aging hippy types with signs that said NO TO WAR & HONK FOR PEACE. Their honks were few and far between, I am happy to report. I had a good time. People were very positive. The only problem I had was with a man who wanted to be sure I was saved. He was blocking my sign, but once I asked him to move a tad to the side, we got along just fine.

Be sure to check out the thread above. Two people from the DC Chapter had quite an experience at the Muslim Solidarity Rally. Warning: Prepare to be outraged and disgusted. Also, pass the link along. The more that people become aware of WWP, ANSWER and Muslim extremist groups the better to defend our country.

Good on you! Say, do the WomenInBlack ever get together with the CodePink types? I bet they'd look like Good-N-Plenties.

For awhile, quite a few of them were sporting Code Pink buttons. I was disappointed that they chose buttons, as Mr. McDonald had told me they were supposed to wear hot pink underwear over their clothes.
But...this being Richmond...fashion prevails over theatre.

Weirdo Fan/VCU art student types and their hangers-on have pretty short attention spans and soon get bored. This is easy to understand, because they're basically boring people.

"Thank you, blam! One of these days I'm going to have to learn to do that html stuff." You're welcome. Didn't know how to do it either when I came to FR. People used to do things for me all the time, even post some articles.

Way to go Flora! You are sure making a difference to the Women in Black's lives! HeeHee. I am sure they don't appreciate it, but we sure do. Thanks!
To: Flora McDonald
One person can make a big difference. Thanks for your work and report. We all need to keep in mind that many of these Code Pinks and Women in Black work in places where they influence/indoctrinate our children.
Our counterdemonstrations help to highlight the idea that what they are teaching and pushing is not gospel truth, but only an opinion.

You go girl! Excellent job. I didn't see any write up about the end of the WIB's in the paper - I guess the TD didn't think it was newsworthy.
