What surprised me was what she did on a par 4 479 yd hole...the longest on the course. She drove into the rough and still put her second shot on the green. Par 4s don't get any longer.

She hit just about every green in regulation. Even by her comparatively weak putting, she should have hit a couple more putts.

Annika carefully chose this course suited to her game, but most pros select which events they comptete in due to the course.

Martha Burke is not in favor of this, which should tell us all to support it. The big winner is B/A and the big loser is Burke and the LPGA....which is assured to be viewed as the bush league of golf(so to speak)

Yup. She went off almost first yesterday so it evens things out.

The purse for this one event is over 5 million which is about 5 times or more what an LPGA event is worth.

After listening to the Calcaveccia interview after he finished I'd say they aren't too happy about this distraction.

You keep throwing up the straw men of

"She deserves to be here"

and

"She can win on the Tour"

so you can knock them down and try to prove your superiority.

She doesn't deserve to be here, nor do the other 7 exempted players that are participating. Why aren't you as mad about them playing as you are about her?

Nor does she have a chance to win a Tour event, especially not her first Tour event. Nobody predicted she would win the event, but many people, like yourself, predicted she wouldn't even make the cut. Now that she shot a 71 and has a legitimate shot to make the cut, you are putting up other expectations for her that you can knock down. Why not be a man like most of her other doubters and say "Wow, she did a really good job. I was wrong." rather than continue to rant and rave about how she doesn't belong and how she can't win.
