Democrats Know They Can't Win In '04
May 22, 2003

My friends, during a discussion of some Dick Gephardt sound bites on Thursday, I made an admittedly bold statement, even for me. The dirty little secret is this: The Democrats know that George W. Bush is unbeatable in 2004. There is no way George W. Bush is going to lose.

As you know, Little Dick Gephardt is one of the nine Democrats seeking the Democrat nomination, and he has a tax and health care plan, which many are calling a tax increase. His plan is to repeal the Bush tax cut, and give that money to carparations, and then the carparations, with this new-found money would then be required to fully fund health care for their employees and other things. Well, Little Dick was on the Newshour with Jim Lehrer on PBS Wednesday evening defending the plan and saying all sorts of outrageous things.

You can hear a few sound bites in the audio links below, where you will hear Little Dick call his plan, "a different kind of tax cut" and introduce a new liberal term, "wage benefits." Excuse me, what is a wage benefit? I thought people earned raises. I thought people earned increases in pay. Dick Gephardt says his plan is going to raise "wage benefits." Even your salary is a gift from the government now, folks! He also says that Americans will choose his national healthcare over a $300-$600 tax cut.

2004 Race Is Fan Dance In Snow Pants

Dick, may I tell you what the American people are going to choose? Most people will choose the security of the country and their families over a Democrat health care plan any day. It's not about health care, Dick - and this is the nub of it right here. Much as you Democrats want to try to frame the debate and make this upcoming election about that, it isn't going to be about that, it's going to be about national security, the war on terrorism.

Here's the bold part, folks. The Democrats know they have already lost the 2004 election. Privately, every member of the Democrat Washington intelligentsia knows it. Now, some of these candidates think they have a shot, and some rank-and-file Democrats out there think they can win, but among Democrat pros, the election is over. There is not going to be a Democrat victory in 2004, and they know it. They're headed for Mondullsville.

The other factor in this is the Clintons. Who runs the Democratic National Committee? Terry McAuliffe, Clintonista. Who's laid out in grand scenario to win the White House for herself in 2008? Hillary Clinton. What is the one thing that stands in the way of that? A Democrat winning in 2004. Even if one of these clowns among the nine Democratic candidates look like they're going to win, something will happen behind the scenes to sabotage anybody who gets close.

So all this stuff you hear from candidates like Gephardt is a bunch of malarkey, hodgepodge, just flapping of the gums for the sake of it. None of it will ever come to pass. Look, folks, anything can change, but let me put it this way: Within the deep, dark bowels of the Democrat cloakrooms, those who read polls and keep track of things know full well they are not going to win the White House in 2004. It's just that simple. You'll never hear them say it publicly. You heard it here first.

The other factor in this is the Clintons.

No doubt about it - *they're running the show...

And given the reports (quoted here on FR) that they're busy sucking up the oxygen ($$$) that could otherwise be fueling other Dem candidates, this is A Good Thing.

As long as Terry McAuliffe remains in place, it's a sign that the clintons are still in charge.

How do they do it, when they no longer have the White House to bend and twist the rules, and Hillary is the not very successful junior senator from NY?

My theory is that the clintons have unlimited funds. Probably several billion stashed in Swiss accounts.

Plus they have unlimited ability to blackmail all the players. 900 FBI files was only the tip of the iceberg. I can't believe they left office with anything less than the entire FBI and CIA databases in their moving vans.

Who's laid out in grand scenario to win the White House for herself in 2008? Hillary Clinton.

That is the year our Republic will either sink or swim. If Hillary wins, it's curtains for America as we know it, forever!

Excuse me, what is a wage benefit?

Let me splain it to you, Rush. A wage benefit is the sneaky way the libs intend to get national health care, using the corporations as proxies, and tax the workers for it. Company-provided health care will be considered a salary extension, a taxable benefit as part of the wages. In other words, another sneaky Democrat tax increase.

Purely logically thinking, and I say this not advocating the idea, but I really feel someone, somewhere, will take out both her and Billy boy.

If she was to win the election, there will be too many upset people for her to survive. Now, granted, I don't feel Hillary will ever win a presidential election. She's too much of a polarizing figure and there will be such a national outcry against her that she will finally slither back under the rock she out from.

As much as I hate to say it, I hope Terry stays in his job at the DNC as even the most rabid RAT could not possibly stomach that jerk!

this is an opportunity to bury the democrat party. A motivated and good turn out by the republicans beyond the base can win even the local elections.

It will further push the democrat party to the left. It will become unable to conceal the democrat party as the party of perverts and socialists. 2004 will mark the proof that 2002 was the begining of the end of democrats.

Perhaps not. Because there WILL be a civil war if the Hildebeast wins. She is a hard core socialist all the way down to her elephantine ankles. True patriots, those who love what the founders intended, will revolt big time if The Beast gets elected.

Excuse me, what is a wage benefit?

If it is a wage, it is taxable. They are back to trying to tax benefits.

I would agree with that - if x42 is Sec.Genl. of the UN.

However, I tend to agree with Susan Estrich, "Hillary Clinton will never be President of the United States". Why ?? According to Susan, "because she is the most divisive person in politics".

Let's be careful before declaring victory. No one thought the Democrats would beat the other Bush, either.

I think we all know the end of that particular story.

Interesting. This explains Sharpton. He can't even win the nomination, let alone the general election. He knows it, he's no dummy.

But if he brings enough delegates to the table in the convention, he increases his influence next time. Even next time, he won't be president, it's a question of influence.

Don't anyone here misunderestimate Sharpton's intellegence, despite his hairstyle.

In his field, he is an Einstein. No sarcasm.
