who cares, its golf, its not even a real sport for crying out loud. Yeah! A real sport needs steroids or genetics to validate its worth. Who gives a crap if a little girl can beat a 6'3" guy at the same game on a silly little golf course? ;-)

What box is she teeing off of? The women's or the men's? If she's teeing off of the women's, then she and feminists should be ashamed of themselves. If she's teeing off of the men's, then more power to her and go get 'em!

BTW - In English, we usually capitalize the first word in a sentence.

Eagles ain't that easy to come by and there are only 18 birdies in a round. If a player birdies every other hole
He shoots 63.

The 125th player on the money list made $515,000 and change last year. That ain't a bad living even after travel and Holiday Inns. The vast majority of the younger guys have sponsors. Expenses are covered but a percentage of your winnings goes to the sponsor. The guy that earned $515K probably only banked a third of that after taxes. Still not a bad living but traveling for 40 straight weeks, living in hotels, and driving around the country is a pretty tough life.

I stand corrected. She had sixteen birdie putts and a total of 33 putts, which is tied for 112th in the tournament, which may or may not be last place. If it's not, it's damn close.
I never said I wan't biased. I have played a lot of golf with a lot of great women golfers. I know that they are way behind men physically. This is not intended to be a knock on women. It is just a fact that women are different from men.
We knew going in that she was short off the tee for a man and had a bad putting game for women. Some of us chose to put out hands over our ears. Some did not. I'm impressed that she did as well as she did.

I agree, lets see how she does tomorrow before we start calling her the greatest of all time, Babe Z. in the 1950'S had a top 20 PGA finish...

Of course, every first putt when on in regulation is a birdie putt, but and no offense, but when someone references a "birdie putt" to me it means a putt that the player has a good shot at making. You and I have played enough golf to know that. I was just making the point. ;-)
I hope you don't endorse that swill that presidio9 posted in #1008. Good God - the man's a menace! ;-)

You're totally correct. A lot of belly-acher's are forgetting that BofA is putting up the cash to put these golfers out here. Those who pulled out of the tourney with sorry excuses are yellow. Just like most pro-athletes, it takes little or no time to forget where their checks come from.

I personally would think it would be a great tradition for the sponser of the Colonial to give the best LPGA player an exemption every year. Great idea. Only die hard golf fans give a hoot about this tournament anyway. With Annika, or any other top LPGA player in the field, it becomes a media event. I think its good for the game. After all, the PGA wouldnt have these inflated purses if it wasnt for TV and Corporate Sponsors. So if you cant get Tiger in your tournament, you need to come up with a gimmick.
To: ewing
Ouch! Sergio Garcia is at +2 currently. Could be a quick weekend for him.
To: an amused spectator
Why don't you think so? Tiger's scoring average is 68. Women get ten an average of 10 strokes on the HI index for playing from the blue tees. Do the math.

Tiger could shoot multiple rounds in the '50s on LPGA courses, might be tough to do all 4. Sign me up as a doubting Thomas, though I love the big lug and his game.
To: an amused spectator
No, I'm just saying that they way I understood may have been different than you and others. Actually, when I read that I thought to myself "She didn't have that many close puts, many were over 15 feet"...heheh.

Can a man do anything in life without a women nag about him having fun with the guys? Then yip-&-yap about men not being fair about this & that & blablablabla....
Annika will score hmmmmmmmmmmm 78 or more....choke!!!!!!
To: Anitius Severinus Boethius
After a fast start, Serg has been a dissappointment of late. Meethinks he's caught the same thing as Couples and Mickelson...

The scary thing is that the day when Annika shot 71 at her Colonial practice round, Tiger was playing with her and shot 61!!

She would not be #125 on the money list. She has yet to show that she can make a cut. Making the cut here is worth $8,000, minus expenses. And this is her best chance to make a cut. In thirty 40 events I give her the generous assumption of 10 cuts made. $80,000, minus expenses for 40 events (roughly $50,000 minimum) is not very attractive for such a high-stress occupation.
