There is no indication President George W. Bush has met any of the bin Ladens, but he was indirectly linked to one of them two decades ago. His longtime friend James W. Bath, who met Mr. Bush when they were both pilots in the Air National Guard, acted as a Texas business representative for Osama's older brother, Salem bin Laden, from 1976 to 1988, when Salem died in a plane crash. Mr. Bath brought real-estate acquisitions and other deals to Salem bin Laden, an ebullient man who headed the family construction business. Mr. Bath generally received a 5% interest as his fee, and was sometimes listed as a trustee in related corporate documents. Mr. Bath acknowledged that during the same period he invested $50,000 in two funds controlled by Mr. Bush but said that stake was unrelated to his dealings with Mr. bin Laden.

Among the properties that Salem bin Laden bought on Mr. Bath's recommendation was the Houston Gulf Airport, a lightly used airfield in League City, Texas, 25 miles east of Houston. But Mr. bin Laden's hope that it would develop a major overflow airport for Houston never materialized, in part due to concern over wetlands. Ever since his death, his estate has sought to sell the airfield -- without success. Today, it is still on the market.

I wonder whether Moore will mention the following in his film?

FormerPresident Carter met with 10 of Osama's brothers early in 2000 on a fund-raising trip for the Carter Center in Atlanta. According to John Hardman, executive director of the center, the brothers told Mr. Carter that Osama was completely removed from the family. After Mr. Carter and his wife followed up with breakfast with Bakr bin Laden in New York in September 2000, the bin Laden family gave $200,000 to the center. "We don't have any reason to think there's a connection" between Osama and the rest of the family, Mr. Hardman says.

If one reviews the many aspects that motivate the terrorist's. Hatred of America is on the top of the list. If terrorist think we hate Bush and our country, it makes their cause all the more righteous and "right". Since that is all they are hearing on the media and from our celebrities, that is all they know.

If they don't want more blood shed they are going about it all the wrong way. To encourage peace, as a wise person on here mentioned, they need to show us hugging our babies, the importance of family and not material wealth, and show tolerance of Islam. Showing us as a war mongering dictatorship around the world is flat out inspiring more terrorists. That is why they are running into our buildings!!!!! We are "infidels" or sinners in decadence that discriminate and want to wipe out Islam. The Bali bombers said they did it because they read somewhere that Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan were being dicriminated against (remember that was about a year prior to the war).


I don't care what your party lines or beliefs are. For me it is just a case of provoking more madmen to bomb us. Here is an analogy I used for a predominately Democrat male audience:

You were with your football team in a pumping bar that was starting to get aggressive. A few guys in the bar were just looking for a fight. One of the disgruntled members of your football team gets up on stage and said "this football team I am with sucks. They hate your guts, want to take all your money and kill you. Greedy people. I will still enjoy all their money and benefits myself, but slag my team off. That is my right because, it is my right to have freedom of speech." Suddenly the guys in the bar looking for that fight and the opportunity to start one, you know the guys I am talking about, turn on the football team and all hells break loose. The now "celebrity" football star wins the hearts of the thugs and gets some of the members of his team killed.

But then he turns to his football team and says "Why are you mad at me? It is my right to have freedom of speech!" Yes it is his right to have freedom of speech, but some things should not be said for the safety of others. Many are too naive, and not traveled enough outside their "environmental bubble", to understand the rules of the street when you are in hostile territory... you shut your mouth, divert your eyes down and try to disappear in the crowd. Not provoke the maniacs. Not to provoke the maniacs to want to kill your team mates.

Our borders do not protect us anymore as 9/11 demonstrated and we have many interests in hostile lands. We are in hositle country even in the US now and these self interested fools, need to realize the full implications of their words. Be street smart Michael Moore. Your encouraging the sheep in our society with your ficticious documentries to get riled up enough to slow us down with protestors etc, from doing what needs to done. Your inspiring more terrorist's with your lie's.

The ONLY view the international community has of America is from the media. Jerry Springer is prime time in Europe, Dixie Chic's and Madonna in England mouthing off and Jassica Lange in Spain. That does not take into consideration the damage day to day media do around the world. We wonder why they hate us???????????????????

Its about the Bush family, their extensive connection with the Bin Laden family and the environment within the USA post Sept 11. He has footage of the Bush family dining with the Bin Laden family. It elaborates on the business relationship between the families that has existed for many years. It explores how a Saudi charter plane travelled the US immediately after Sept 11 and how the FBI were pissed that they couldn't interrogate its Bin Laden passengers as they were ferried to Paris. It looks at the way in which the government used the events of Sept 11 to push their own agendas.

During question time one audience member questioned his ability to finish the film, to which his answer was "Any attempt to stop it will just create more interest." He also said he would explore the reasons as to why Blair put his arse on the line to support Bush and make a film that is funnier and more shocking than COLUMBINE.

Thus began the distributor buying frenzy. FARENHEIT 9-11: THE TEMPERATURE AT WHICH TRUTH BURNS will be ready for Cannes next year and release Sept in North America (prior to the elections I'm told). Prior to the briefing all were screened and told not to release to media. As I consider you a geek and not media I feel at ease.
