Campus leftists beware: The right is finding its voice

WINGATE, N.C. — More than a dozen college students gathered in the marshy meadowland of rural North Carolina recently to plot the overthrow of campus liberalism.

Their weapon of choice? The newspaper.

"People complain about the media," said Joshua Mercer, director of the seminar held at the Jesse Helms Center in the heart of chicken-growing country. "Our philosophy is, 'Be the media.' "

In an eight-hour session that bore little resemblance to a traditional journalism class, students were taught how to start conservative newspapers and opinion journals. And how to pick fights with leftists on the faculty and in student government.

David Brock, the onetime conservative author who has become a born-again Democrat, said campus conflicts are "phony wars instigated by conservatives. They introduce division and polarity where none exist."

David Brock, the onetime conservative author who has had the wool pulled over his eyes - what a joke of a human being!!

"It's just not fair, that now, everybody can express their opinion", said professor Longhair Birkinstock as he and a group of fellow Marxists filled Molotov Cocktails and prepared to fire the campus coed's dorm room.

This is partly true. As a student, I besieged a horrified administration to create a White Student Union to counter the hypocrisy of the Black Student Union. When that failed, I charged the BSU with creating an environment of apartheid on campus.

Eventually, I grew up a bit and was appointed to the campus judiciary committee where I brought some sanity to the near hysteria of campus “date rape” and other liberal outrages. But the experience taught me one thing, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Actually, Brock's political orientation seems to drift around depending on which gaybars he's cruising at the time.

One week it's Log Cabin, another Studs and Leather.

Few of us can imagine what he'll be into next! (ROTFLMAOPMP)

There is some nice irony in the full article: the new conservative paper at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is the Gaucho Free Press. ("Gauchos" is the name for the school's athletic teams) The AS funded leftist rag is (I think still) the Daily Nexus. However, back in 1969, during the days of the riots in Santa Barbara, the very same leftist rag was called El Gaucho. It was renamed because (1) it had lost credibility and (2) was widely referred to as El Guano.

The Leadership Institute, which sponsored the North Carolina seminar, is one of three organizations that train and fund conservative journalists.

And we give a puck what David Brock says because? Who the hell is David Brock? The article makes it sound from the little blurb about him that he's been around for years, yet the subject of the article implies he's somewhere in his 20's. Yeah, a big convert to the Dims after his lifelong conservative slant. What, maybe one Presidential election?

Now I'd love to see Seattle turn conservative. I can just imagine Pike St. without all of the guys French kissing everywhere you look, or maybe everyone in White Center would actually bathe more than annually.

"The Broadside" ( http://www.thebroadside.org/ ) is the conservative publication on the campus of NC State University.........and has won numerous national awards. My oldest daughter (I'm proud to say) has been on their staff for a few years now. They receive exactly zero funding from the school.............but the horrific black student rag on the same campus gets a hefty 5-figures per year in support of their sloppiness, plagiarism, and blatant racism.

Jesse Helms Center....."chicken-growing country" = North Carolina

Is it just me or is that a glowing example of elitist media throwing a backhand at conservative rural America??

These sniveling reporters look down over their bespectacled noses and Chicken Cordon Blue at American chicken ranchers, though the chicken is domestic and only the cheese is from their idoelogical brethren from France.

I say shut down the NC and East Texas chicken farms for a couple weeks and let them eat cake.
