For 130 years the DemocRATS controlled the Texas Legislature - since day one. The GOP NEVER has gone AWOL and pulled a stunt such as this. What else can you call these 'RATS but crybabies or Sore Losers, man ?? . . .

Texas Democrats
DAMON WINTER / DMN

Texas Democratic legislators still in Oklahoma -
AWOL House members, GOP leaders stick to guns

Excerpt:

As the standoff dragged on, DPS officers at the Holiday Inn in Ardmore remained friendly with their would-be quarry.

"They're just kind of hanging out," Mr. Wolens said. "They said, 'If you'd like, we'd be happy to accompany you back to Austin,' " Mr. Wolens said. "We did what Nancy Reagan said to do. We just said, 'No.' "

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!

How long a time is legally needed for Govenor Perry to declare the democrats seats vacant, due to dereliction of duty, and appoint Republicans to the vacated seats?

--as a historical aside, the Democrats in Congress tried this stunt around the turn of the last century. The Speaker of the House had enough of them arrested and returned to constitute a quorum and business went on--

DeLay assails Democrats - he greets walkout
with humor, defends plan for redistricting

Get 'em Tom !

Excerpt:

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, whose redistricting plan lit the fuse of Austin's political firestorm, mocked "fugitive Democrats" Tuesday with a photo of the Texas Capitol dome superimposed over a hotel in Ardmore, Okla.

"These Democrats up in Oklahoma – they may not be patriots, but they did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night," said the Sugar Land Republican, playing on a series of television ads (although the hotel in question is actually a regular Holiday Inn).

You know, the Ba'ath party lost the war, and after they fled to Syria, they came back and are demanding to be a large part of the new Iraqi government.

Texas Democrats lost the election, and rather than accept defeat, like the Ba'ath party, they have fled to Oklahoma and are demanding to be a large part of the new Texas legislature.

I guess the moral of the story is: Winning matters.

These Dems think they are going to be rock stars. Just stopped in for a cup of coffee in southeastern OK. Overheard some Dems there saying the T.Dems are real heroes and of course the old line "what about N. Korea".
Is it just me or are Dems at the lower end of the brain chain?

Democrats deny they are conducting any House business.

That's not what they said yesterday:

[Coleman] said the lawmakers were working on budget-related legislation and other measures.

The missing Democratic lawmakers spent Monday in a hotel conference room, where large sheets of paper taped to the walls were used as makeshift chalkboards and long tables were filled with laptop computers, stacks of papers and notebooks. They said they discussed school financing, homeowners insurance and other issues and planned to resume the work sessions Tuesday. "It was a working day," said Rep. Pete Gallego.

I feel there is a strong case against the TX Democrat Party, possibly the DNC, and the individual representatives to recoup the expenses of a special session.

I wrote an email a few minutes ago to the TX Attorney General inquiring about such a lawsuit. If anyone else thinks this is a worthwhile pursuit, the Texas AG is Mr. Greg Abbot. His email is:

greg.abbott@oag.state.tx.us

Thanks.

This could be a great campaign theme.

This time, vote for someone who will stick around until the job is done. Vote for _____________

Then make a list of all the RAT issues that never got completed because the RATS all went into holes.

Shalom.

Got this from The Australian:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,6437016%255E2703,00.html

Texan Republican Governor Rick Perry called the rebels "cowardly and childish" while Republican MPs pasted faces of their missing colleagues on milk cartons and joked about releasing a pack of cards bearing their images.

Mr DeLay called the rebels disloyal to their state.

"I have never turned tail and run. Even when I'm losing, I stand and fight for what I believe. It's so Texas contrary," he said.
