Er - that's a hoax.If it's a hoax, how about a little evidence, so we can all stop believing this report from Drudge.
Seriously, what makes you say it's a hoax?

The vehemence and prominence and printing of his picture - that guy wasn't just shamed, he was lynched.Although Blair gets no sympathy from me, I tend to agree with your sentiments. The New York Times is far more to blame for this whole fiasco than is Blair. It was the Times which gave birth to, nurtured, coddled and finally promoted Blair.
And now the Old Gray Whore is doing everything in its power to keep that crazy rogue reporter Jayson Blair front and center.
Yep. Surprise, surprise, the The New York Times wants it to be crystal clear that the paper was a victim of Jayson Blair, while at the same time they shovel out the phony humble pie offering, "mistakes were made."
Pathetic.
To: Calvin Locke
Good one.

You will be able to ask questions1 from the floor, or write them on cards that will be distributed at the door. In addition, we have set up an email address -- forum@nytimes.com -- where you can send questions, either in advance of the session2 or afterward.
1 Questions are welcomed since it will simplify the making of our next list of layoffs.
2 Advance questions are also welcomed as it helps to get a purge started asap.

Frnkly, I think this is another Drudge "Much Ado About Nothing". Holding a meeting like this isn't really that big a surprise.
If he had some hint of major shak-ups, that would be news.
To: Petronski
Ok - I'll stand down - but if that's real, they really are insane.
To: LenS
Yeah, but we can FREEP this email address, and they can't fire us!

Should we send our suggestions to forum@nytimes.com, or would that be too rude?
Whoever's reading this account is going to be highly amused.

I don't want it to sound like a standoff, I thought you had heard somewhere that Drudge had it wrong. No sweat.

The fact this story was "leaked" is the funniest part of the story.
Unnamed sources, no less.
hmmmm....I wonder what Rita Crosby's sources and special sources have to say about this?????

If Blair violated the law, people who aided and abetted him did it too, presumably.
To: Notwithstanding
The liberal media continues to take on water.
To: sharktrager
If he had some hint of major shak-ups, that would be news. Um...He just posted that two other NY Times reporters are being investigated for journalistic irregularities. THAT is big news. It looks like reportorial FRAUD at the NY Times is NOT limited to just one reporter.

Tomorrow's speech for those at the NY TIMES:
"It has come to our attention that there are those in the newsroom lying without being cleared through the proper channels. Only certain executives of this newspaper can authorize bald-faced lies. The following are the only outright lies NOT requiring executive clearance:
1)Hillary is a wonderful lady.
2)Capitalism is responsible for the world's problems.
3)Castro is a nice guy.
4)Bush is a moron.
5)Oral sex peformed on a Democrat is NOT sex.
Any other whoppers are to be sent through the normal editorial channels to try and allow the owners of this newspaper a fighting chance to appear in public without suffering humiliating name-calling.
We know this is not a serious newspaper and you know this is not a serious newspaper but can't we just keep that to ourselves?"
To: Cicero
Fraud. When is fraud a criminal offense, and a federal criminal offense at that?
To: Diogenesis
this guy in the picture resembles shephard smith--doesn't he???
