Moore Bush-bashing from film flake - Glover disconnected?
New York Daily News ^ | 5/13/03 | Rush & Molloy

Michael Moore continues to endear himself to President Bush.

A White House official called the "Bowling for Columbine" director "delusional" when we informed him that the filmmaker, who roundly scolded the commander in chief during his Oscar acceptance speech, now contends that the Bush administration knows where Osama Bin Laden is - but isn't going after him.

Moore made the claim on Bob Costas' HBO show, "On the Record." When Costas asked why the President would resist taking out the world's No. 1 Evildoer, Moore replied: "Because he's funded by [Bush family] friends in Saudi Arabia. He's back living with his sponsors, his benefactors.

"Do you think Bin Laden planned 9/11 from a cave in Afghanistan?" Moore went on. "I can't even get a cell signal from Queens."

The White House official scoffed at Moore's remarks.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts. Those are not the comments of a serious person."

Moore wasn't available yesterday to explain what evidence he had for his claim. But the ties that the Bush and Bin Laden families have to the Carlyle Group, an equity investment company, are the subject of Moore's next film, "Fahrenheit 911," which the filmmaker has called the story "of twin errant sons of different oilmen."

"Fahrenheit 911" is already turning into a live grenade, at least for Mel Gibson.

Variety reported recently that Moore and Gibson's Icon Productions had an "eight-figure" deal to make the movie. But last week, Icon announced it was backing away from the film.

One source tells us us that Gibson's partner Bruce Davey made the offer to Moore while Gibson was in Italy.

"Mel is a much more conservative guy," says the source. "When he found out about the 'Fahrenheit 911' deal, he didn't want any part of it. He figured he had enough controversy on his hands with" his film about Jesus' last days, "Passion."

Another source argues, "Mel isn't concerned about controversy. Icon was one of several companies Michael Moore was talking to."

Miramax has now supplied bridge financing to reignite "Fahrenheit," which Moore hopes to release just before the 2004 elections. Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein is a longtime Democratic supporter.

Though conservatives like Matt Drudge are already faulting parent company Disney for funding a "Bush-basher," a source close to the film insists there's no hidden political agenda to the deal.

"Harvey only got involved because Mel bailed out."

Glover disconnected?

Is Danny Glover's Bush-bashing causing static with MCI?

The telecommunications company is said to be considering dropping the actor as its spokesman after coming under pressure from conservative groups.

The "Lethal Weapon" star has decried the Iraq war, called Bush a "racist" and suggested that a U.S. invasion of Cuba might be in the offing.

A source at Patriotic Americans Boycotting Anti-American Hollywood tells MSNBC.com's Jeannette Walls MCI plans to nix the Glover ads. Glover's rep scoffed at the "unsubstantiated rumor" and said "the relationship between Mr. Glover and MCI is categorically solid and successful."

Sounding a little less solid, an MCI spokesman said: "We chose Danny Glover because of his high consumer appeal and ratings," but that the company is "reviewing options for new product campaigns that are more in line with our corporate brand advertising work."

This is good, this is good. It will further expose Michael Moore as a complete idiot.

I thought MCI already dropped Glover?

Ahhhh, Mr Moore, does the name Sinead O'Conner mean anything to you? You are soon to pass her in flakiness.

I thought MCI already dropped Glover?

It's a given, his contract is up in December, but no official word from MCI on his demise, except they are exploring their 'options'.

On Scarborough tonight, he covered Glover and Moore. Joe rocks my world ;)

The Oscar winning documentary filmmaker will have ABC-Disney will be releasing his latest political smear campaign.

This is the multimillion dollar version of the "drunk driving arrest" or the phone campaigns that talk up cross burnings and riots in the streets.

See what Big Media can accomplish when conservative voices are stifled by Campaign Finance Reform?

I hate to say it, but perhaps, to use a familiar Glover remark- "He's too old for this @#$@!". If that expression was good for Lethal Weapon, it's good for MCI. Mwahahahahha!

I can say that it was very cool being on Sacrborough last nite! I knew I wouldn't have much time when they told me we has 3 minutes total...But at least PABAAH got some press and I was able to mention the other celebs that signed NION and WinWithoutWar....basically adding their names to the anti-war movement driven by the communist-backed ANSWER.

Now we must make sure we put pressure on Disney and Miramax, to let them know that we are offended by their choice to use Moore and that we will not pay to see such filth. Let's make an effort to coordinate our efforts! Patriotic Americans will put up with this behavior no more!

"of twin errant sons of different oilmen."

And so the lying to make a story begins.

Of course, bin Laden's father made his money in construction, not oil. But Saudi Arabia has a lot of oil, so that makes him and "oilmam", right?

The "Lethal Weapon" star has decried the Iraq war, called Bush a "racist" and suggested that a U.S. invasion of Cuba might be in the offing.

There's even more reason to despise Danny Glover than just his Bush-bashing. Along with all of the above, he has been a very big activist trying to get murdering thugs new trials, or released from prison.

One of the most high-profile examples was his work to try to free Gary Graham. This was despite the fact that there were five eyewitnesses to the murder Graham committed which earned him the death penalty:

"If the police had placed 100 photographs of people matching the description which I gave of the killer and among those 100 photographs there was 1 photograph of Gary Graham, I, absolutely, would have selected his picture. Graham killed Bobby Lambert and I saw him do it."
(witness Bernadine Skillern.)
Graham was no innocent man unjustly accused:
Graham had been previously arrested on May 20th for a crime spree that included at least 22 criminal episodes, which involved 20 armed robberies, 3 kidnappings, 1 rape, and 3 attempted murders; a crime spree which was later found to include the murder of Mr. Lambert. There are 28 known victims of this crime spree, resulting in 19 eyewitnesses who have positively identified Graham.
During Glover's last big push to free Graham, local Houston talk radio interviewed many of Graham's victims, who graphically described what Graham (who they positively identified) had done to them.
"When I knew he was going to rape me I told him I was 60 years old. He then hit me in the face and said 'don't lie.' He said 'I'm going to f*** you in the ears and the eyes and every place else.' He raped me until I couldn't stand it any longer and I screamed and he stopped. He then attempted anal sex. I was screaming and crying and shaking very, very hard... I was in great pain at that moment, great pain."
Another victim described how, after being kidnapped and driven around by Graham for a while, he had been shot and left for dead. Needless to say, he had no difficulty positively identifying Graham. Graham had told him:
"After I kill you, I am going back [to the victim's broken down car] to kill your fiancée and her parents so they can go with you to 'honky hell'. Before I kill your fiancée, I'm going to rape her."
As the above website summarizes:
In all, nineteen (19) victims/eyewitnesses have identified Gary Graham as the car thief, kidnapper, robber, rapist, attempted murderer or murderer in twenty-two (22) separate criminal incidents involving a total of twenty-eight (28) victims. Graham has pled guilty to ten (10) aggravated robberies. Eleven (11) additional cases were cleared wherein eyewitnesses have made positive identification of Graham or where physical evidence or overwhelming circumstantial evidence tied Graham to the case.
This was the "innocent man" that Danny Glover spent so much effort trying to free.

Moore's Q: "Do you think Bin Laden planned 9/11 from a cave in Afghanistan?"

A: No.

I think Bin Laden funded the attack and Khalid Shaikh Mohammed planned 9/11.

The videotape of bin Laden and his cronies, after September 11th, did not appear to take place in a cave. Did Moore miss it?

Good point.

Moore doesn't let reality get in the way of fiction that he can sell.

I think Moore and Jayson Blair, the lying NY Times reporter, are cut from the same deceitful cloth.

They both pretend to report the facts.
