I'm starting a new contract converting a system into CICS. (Yep, you heard right). I have not used CICS in over 5 years, and I am trying to find any resources (online hopefully). Anyone have any suggestions?

I am back-leveled in my CICS knowledge. However if you have a VTAM question, ask away.

Vacuum tube I could believe, but CICS? If IBM says CICS is good, then CICS is good. :) Actually the older system is something even more ancient.

Try this site out
ASK THE EXPERTS, or you can freepmail me with questions and I can answer them for you or look it up in the numerous books I have on CICS.
To: Hacksaw
That site I gave you also a
USER'S FORUM that appears to be very helpful.

DFH-eyb-ball...
real men pronounce it 'KICKS' (like in '...get your CICS on route 66').
...now if you could find some hollerith cards, or maybe even a clay tablet and a sharp stick, you'd be all set to chunk out a little code...

Heh, heh, heh. My company has what we are told is the most computing power on the East Coast and our workhorse programs which handle over 2 million point-of-sale transactions a day are coded in...?

At work, I have to type in CICS to get to my mainframe-based programs. Never realized it was a certain computer language.

...now if you could find some hollerith cards, or maybe even a clay tablet and a sharp stick, you'd be all set to chunk out a little code... LOL - when I worked in Detroit, one of the GM plants still had a card reader (about 10 years ago). It sounded like a machine gun.

Come to think of it, the BatComputer in the Batcave used punchcards as well (from the old Batman show). However, Batman still had an atomic power supply.
