Democrats Rally for Jayson Blair (Vanity)

Democrats Rally for Jayson Blair

Leading Democrats across the country flew to Washington, DC today and held a rally in support of embattled ex-NY Times journalist Jayson Blair. All of the current candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination were present, along with other heavy hitters such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle, Jesse Jackson, and Gray Davis.

"Why is everyone picking on Jayson?" shrieked Hillary Clinton in her address to the crowd. "He was just doing what we all have to do in order to function in this racist, sexist, homophobic hellhole we call America. He was just following Bill and Hillary's Handbook of Success!"

Bill Clinton wondered aloud why he couldn't have had Jayson Blair available to report on his own troubled past. "Jayson would have shown all those right-wingers the proper way to report on Whitewater, Chinagate, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, etc. Why, he would have made sure that only the 'convenient' facts got reported, in a way that suited my audience."

Tom Daschle questioned why the NY Times was more concerned with purifying itself now than with pursuing the "large issues of our day" such as the need for more Congressional parking and the hatred all Republicans have for the French. "Besides, the Right will just use this as an excuse to blame Affirmative Action, when we all know that selecting and promoting people on a basis other than their qualifications has nothing to do with success in this Party -- uhhh, I mean this country."

Meanwhile, Jesse Jackson led the crowd in chants of "Hey hey, ho ho, Western Civ has got to go." For those with short memories, he explained that this chant helped him to pressure Stanford University to trash its "Western Civilization" required courses some years ago. "If Stanford can do without Western Civ, then so can the NY Times! Who says plagiarism, deception, and fabrication are really such a big deal?"

The REVEREND Al Sharpton explained to the crowd that Jayson Blair suffers from "post-slavery traumatic stress disorder" and that after a comfortable period in re-hab he should be put on the NY Times editorial board. "These honky pigs just like to stab a brother in the back when he's down" declared Sharpton. "What's happening to brother Jayson could happen to any of us!"

But, of course, there is no journalistic bias in favor of the Rats. Such thinking is merely part of the VRWC.

The NY Times is still full of liberal BS and lies even without him. Where is the great loss?

I wonder if he lied on his letter of resignation.

Jason Blair was the NY Times reporter who lost his job for
fabricating various stories that had no truth what so ever.
Fired last week. I suspect this initial story is a satire on the event.

This is definitely a satire (I made it all up) -- but doesn't it sound just like the real people? There is no such 'event' yet (so far as I know), but I wouldn't be tooooo surprised if something like that did happen. In any case, it would be no more asinine than most rallies and speeches coming from the left!

Yes, he did lie in his resignation letter, according to what's been reported about it. He pretended that the plagiarism of the San Antonio article was merely a momentary 'lapse' when in fact his entire journalistic career proves to be a filthy tissue of lies, inventions, and plagiarisms.

I'd never trust anyone named "Jayson" to begin with.

The NYT is just the tip of the iceberg of liberal BS. You can make a short list without even thinking:

All these and countless smaller papers are staffed with reporters EXACTLY like Blair. They just haven't been exposed....at least not yet.
