Considering the expense to the American taxpayer and use of American men and women as 'extras' for this media stunt, President George W. Bush should pledge that his USS Lincoln landing not appear in any 2004 Presidential Campaign Commercials and Videos.

"Why should they not use the footage wherever the hell they want to?" Because it gives us an unfair advantage over the RATs. ROTFL! If the people are constantly reminded of what real leadership looks like, it will be much harder for them to foist their carnival of clowns on a gullible public.

Why should they not use this footage? Absolutely! If Bush had made a verbal gaff during the speech, you could bet the Dems and the media whores would use the "broadcast footage" every day repeatedly from now until the election.

AMERICAN BEAUTY As President Bush was winging his way across the waters off the coast of San Diego for his appearance Thursday on national TV, staffers at the Democratic National Committee were scrambling to find out exactly how much the evening's performance would cost the American taxpayer. "Republicans were always running all these numbers showing how much Clinton and Gore spent for their political gains," said a DNC staffer. "We're trying to do it with Bush and Cheney."
Unfortunately, the opposition researchers were out of luck. In fact, Bush is actually saving taxpayers money by spending the night on the USS Abraham Lincoln, where security expenses are much cheaper than they would have been at a land-based hotel. Moreover, Bush's flight out to the Lincoln on the four-seat S3 Viking aircraft is a flight the Navy usually makes to carriers that are coming in to shore, and Bush did not require use of the Marine helicopter that he usually takes.
"He just got lucky," said the DNC staffer. "We'll be able to get him lots of times in the coming months."
Probably not. Anyone who saw Bush on the deck of the aircraft carrier after landing Thursday afternoon had to realize this was no Mike Dukakis-in-a-tank moment. Almost certainly images from this trip will be replayed time and again during the 2004 campaign, to the benefit of Republicans.
"There isn't a Republican candidate who wouldn't kill to be standing next to him on that aircraft carrier," says a Republican political consultant. "It's a beautiful thing."

Excellent cartoons. Do you have the one of Bush flying in Navy 1 while down below, a dingy with 10 Democrats bob in the waves?

LOL!!
I was a new Christian in the '90s, as well. Talk about scary!
To: johniegrad
Why should they not use this footage? Because the last thing the Democrats want is the American public to see a President looking (*gasp*) Presidential!
The party that brought us "President" and "oral sex" in the same sentence just can't stand the fact that character actually counts!!

I think most people (70-some percent) would love to be an extra in a Bush campaign commercial. I know I would.

I don't think I do, but I believe Budge does. There are some great ones over this though. This couldn't possibly have been planned any better if it actually HAD been a campaign manuever. There is absolutely no way the RATs can spin it to make the president look bad, and the harder they try, the nastier and more bitter they come off looking.

One of the talking heads last night said that the main reason the 'rats can't handle this is that it clearly shows the DIVERSITY of people that embrace this Pres. - as they did on the ship.
To: Grampa Dave
"THIS IS SOFT MONEY IN ACTION! STUFF IT!" Exactly. We'll have to put a web cam on 'em cause you know the RATs will be burning or defacing.

I have been thinking about this for a while. Why are the rats so upset about those pictures? And, why are some FReepettes so turned-on by the same pictures? Then it hit me, the parachute straps on the flightsuit outline his ...ummm..."package". Unlike Gore, those are not photoshop enhanced images. They prove to the world that President Bush has a brass pair the size of Buicks. FReepers already knew this. We also know that they are tatooed "Property of Laura".
No wonder the rats are mad.
