Let's see, the 48 car got wrecked -- must have been driving the last lap.

Hendrick is a supporter and friend of Bill, who also benefited from a Clinton pardon for ripping off Honda owners. Ripped off? I guess you want the government setting car prices, instead of supply and demand...
To: Gunslingr3
Don't put words in my mouth.
Hendrick was busted for bribing Honda execs to get more favorable quotas. The increase in desirable hondas on his lot, meant fewer at other lots where customers had less choice and paid more due to 'short supply'.

Just saw on the news that Easly is going to get back onto the track in Bobby Labonte's car and make some more laps.If I were Labonte, I don't think I'd be too enthusiastic about the Gov. driving my car anywhere. Surely he can think of some excuse like-"Gee, too bad, I think I'm all out o' gas" or something.

Rick Hendrick paid more to Honda to get more Hondas to sell them. Why is that any business of the government? Why is that illegal?

Poorly attempting to the NASCAR voting block.

I assumed he was a (D), when the news article in post #15 didn't ID a political party.
Thanks for confirming.

This is just great! Why I'll bet he was wearing one of those driver's jumpsuits and a helmet.
I want an accounting of just how much this cost the taxpayers.
And I want a promise that he won't use any film footage in the governor's race next year.(did I leave anything out?)

I will probably get flamed for this but .......
Apparently Gov. Weasley was doing this as practice for a promotion to help keep the Winston (all-star NASCAR race) in the Charlotte area. This race is a big economic boon to the area (and thus to the state) plus it is something that most of the race teams themselves favor keeping here.
From what I can tell, the governor had a legitimate purpose beneficial to the state and was NOT doing this just as a cheap thrill or as a photo-op.
There are very few things I would defend Weasley on but this happens to be one of them.
Vinnie ~~~ I can assure you, he would not look as good in a driver's suit as our President did in that flight suit ....... :-)

Find a lawyer to explain it to you. He made an agreement, then subverted it. People got ripped off.

I don't know/care if he is Dim or Pubbie, since he didn't get hurt is just as funny either way.
Same as if GWB would have thrown up on the deck.

NASCAR could do all of us motorheads a big favor, 2 actually; kick Je$$e to the curb and extend the racing season.
I don;t like this jockeying for races mentioned as you and some tracks losing races. Just add more races. I wouldn't worry about oversaturation.
