He was driving Rick Hendrick's #48 Chevy car when he lost control, skidded and hit one of the track's soft walls. FWIW, Hendrick is a supporter and friend of Bill, who also benefited from a Clinton pardon for ripping off Honda owners.

Cooper says the governor was in town practicing for an upcoming promotional appearance at the Winston race. He is participating the race to show his support for keeping the Winston at LMS.There is a huge promotion going on around here to keep the Winston at LMS. If the governor is part of that, I'll give him a bye on this one, 'rat or not.

"When did they start alowing non-racers to drive at that speed? I've never heard of NASCAR letting an untrained person just take a car out at those speeds." He has been taking classes and was on the track by himself. He wants to make a promotional appearance at the Winston.

At least, he didn't get seriously injured. Maybe he could take up skydiving next. Or pull a stunt from Jackass, and jump off the roof of condo into a pool like that teen earlier this week who is aiming for the 2003 Darwin award.

I've seen a lot worse but it looks like the car took a pretty good wallop.

Just saw on the news that Easly is going to get back onto the track in Bobby Labonte's car and make some more laps.

For anyone interested, here is the
DU thread on this.
I suspect the poster of it is going to get blasted for his common sense.

Great!
Bush does an aircraft carrier landing and the people love it. Now politicians are lining up in front of cameras and anything that's dangerous, creating their own version of "Jackass"
