Hey, Flyboy! Women voters agree: President Bush is a hottie!

I had the most astonishing thought last Thursday. After a long day of hauling the kids to playdates and ballet, I turned on the news. And there was the president, landing on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, stepping out of a fighter jet in that amazing uniform, looking--how to put it?--really hot. Also presidential, of course. Not to mention credible as commander in chief. But mostly "hot," as in virile, sexy and powerful.

Holding the arms clear and slightly flexed is pretty usual for somebody who does a lot of upper body work. His shoulder girdle does move pretty much as a unit. It's an athletic man's walk - but when I said there's nothing "unusual" I meant nothing unusual as indicating an injury or unsoundness. He looks sound to me - I think he would vet out. :-D

Clinton's walk I would describe as slightly "shambling". Nothing to indicate an unsoundness, just a disconnectedness (maybe loose ligaments) in the joints. Typical of a non-athletic man (my husband has the same walk so it's not that I dislike Clinton - even though I do, for other reasons.) He's got too much stoop for his age though, always looks as if he's walking downhill. And he does lead with his chin.

but stuff like this makes women look like fools who vote based on looks rather than ability, and that would be a shame.

I don't think it does. The author is a woman, and the article is in the end, about the importance of returning to the 'substance of policy matters' as well as character, fidelity and integrity, and NOT getting carried away here.

Maybe, just maybe, some of the 'soccer moms'......not all, but SOME......will look harder at this, reevaluate why they've voted the way they have, and think about the fact that THIS President....who looks very good to them.....is a man with character and strength, and a vision for America that will benefit them and their children.

I know, I know, and it SHOULD be becuase of what President Bush has done/ wants to do ... instead of the way he looks .

But see, that's the thing, it IS about what he has done and wants to do. Don't get me wrong, I agree that no one should EVER vote because of someone's looks - what a travesty of the whole process.

But the sexiest things about my husband are that he is a great father, a smart capable provider, an open honest man who does what he says he'll do, and the way he takes care of me and makes me feel as if nothing can hurt us on his watch. The fact that he's not hard on the eyes is a bonus. :)

Translate all that to Bush and America, and we have a match. It's not that he looks good in a flight suit, but that he can actually fly the plane.

The sexiest thing of all.

Absolutely.

It takes a whole lot more man to be satisfied by, and to satisfy the woman he married 25 years ago, and honor the commitment that God desires you to, than to have adolescent daliances with girls 30 years your junior, but at a roughly equivalent maturity level.

Bill Clinton.....sexy?? Not even CLOSE!

This is a great article to come across after my opine on the "Nightline" thread from last night. I just KNEW that after seeing the reaction of the ladies on The View, that there would be trouble brewing with 'rat men who are jealous that the President can attract voters on more than one level.

Before we are through with this national discussion the 'rats will be very, very sorry they ever opened the door on this topic. I truly believe it has a broader connotation in the fact that women are looking for STRONG, men who SAY WHAT THEY WILL DO, THEN, DO WHAT THEY SAY.

Post 9/11, we are a nation attacked who no longer wants a president who "feels our pain" (and his interns).... but a real man of character, strength and honest integrity who comes to the plate with optimal focus and purpose of justice.

There's a lot to be read between the lines here, but this in reality is not a "photo op," that they resent. They resent the fact that a president of extreme confidence who doesn't put his energy into trying to one-up polls is in charge.....and their worst fear is being confirmed because this entire discussion reveals that the majority of women in this nation have great respect, admiration and votes for a "REAL" man. Although I personally can find great reasons for conservative men to roll their eyes over such a juvenile observation, I also hope this pleases them on a deeper level to realize that some things never change.

The deep acknowledgement that men who display strength and exude power, who believe in the family and cling to one woman adds up to the ideal leader, commander in chief, president, should not surprise anyone (ask someone even a repub with all the political savvy but none of the same truths in their personal actions----like Newt Gingrich).

Yet, everything old is new again, and the 'rats are scrambling as the waters of truth threaten to drown them. Well 'rats, don't blame the flight suit, or the "photo-op" blame yourselves for not seeing that a man who has the attributes of of integrity and strength is exceedingly attractive on EVERY level in flyover country. ESPECIALLY to women who have known (or considered themselves victimized) by a Klintoon character in the past. As for women with healthy and mature outlooks, there could never be a contest.

Besides, the thing about George that makes it hard for anyone's fantasies to run amok is that there is reason to believe that the only one who is going to know what all this heat is worth is Laura.

That is EXACTLY what makes him SO attractive!!! He's faithful to his wife, and women admire and respect him for that!!

No one, NO ONE , should vote for a presidential candidate because they find him " sexy "/ " a hottie ".

I voted for Pres. Bush because I agree with his policies and ideas for this country. The fact that he's a hottie never entered into it. It sure makes it easy to watch him on TV, though! ;o)

" what he wears, even though the shoulders of his suits are too big ......"

Think you'll find some of this is from the bullet proof vests he occasionally wears. This was particularly noticeable a few weeks ago in pictures which were taken in the Rose Garden. Made his suit appear ill fitting.

"Repeal women's suffrage AND raise the voting age back up to 21 ! I would gladly give up my right to vote, since so many females, who vote becuase of how a candidate looks, would no longer be voting either. :-)"

So, should blacks have the right to vote?

What about senior citizens?

This is 2003, not 1800.

I think the voting age ought to be raised to 21 or higher. Young people need to experience the "real world" by participating in the work force and managing their own homes. This way people are more likely to make informed decisions in elections. In fact, do you know that Baltimore allows 16 year olds to vote in municipal elections? This gives the NEA the opporunity to persuade clueless high school students into voting for the Democrats.

The woman's suffrage movement was directly correlated with the abolition movement......and both were Christian in origin.

nopardons can't really mean what she says.

(....although, I did tease my sons about giving up my right to vote when algor mauled his wife and some women said they decided to vote for him because of it........disgusting!)

Thanks for the pings. Yes, W is HOT but as had been said before, were it not for his loving devotion to his wife and family he wouldn't be nearly as HOT!

I just saw a headline that Terry McAuliffe is requesting that the GOP guarantee that these photos won't be used in a campaign commercial. These guys are so insane. The President is CIC and he's with the troops. It's the PRIMARY responsibility of the presidency - to defend the nation from enemies foreign and domestic - for crying out loud. They are so frickin' scared of how well this came off for W, it's unbelieveable. So many serious issues out there and all they can talk about is the President in a flightsuit. Talk about ridiculous and irrelevant.

Pffftttt on the democrats and the press for hyping this story.

YES!!!! Stereotyping people is wrong.

I proudly voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 for my very first election. I have voted Republican ever since. I voted for our current President based on his policies and nothing else. I didn't even consider his looks.

I was so thoroughly sick of Klintoon, almost anything would have been better. But we have been blessed by a most remarkable man in many ways.

I am a woman. I served 21 years in the military, but retired mostly because of Klintoon. I am now reenlisting to help out. The mere suggestion that women shouldn't be allowed to vote, from a woman no less, is VERY offensive. I'm not easily offended, or I wouldn't have lasted 21 years in the military. But this just takes the cake. Yes, I was disgusted that women voted for Klintoon because they somehow thought he was sexy, but I never questioned their RIGHT to vote or their RIGHT to be stupid.
