O'Reilly Seeks to Destroy Georgia Republican Governor

Posted on 05/06/2003 5:58:32 PM PDT by faithincowboys

Tonight, Bill has continued his jihad against Georgia Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. O'Reilly, who recently made what many considered an anti-black remark, has launched a full frontal assault on Perdue.

Inexplicably, Bill O blames the GOP Gov for an all-white private prom that recently occured in Baldwin County Georgia. Of course, if the Governor could prevent the white kids from having a private prom, we would be living in a totalitarian state.

Bill is clearly seeking to destroy Perdue to deflect from his racially insensitive faux pas.

Perdue's Black Female Press Secretary was on The Factor tonight and Bill was rude and hostile to her, it kinda made you think that if Bill were throwing a private party at his big Long Island digs (why doesn't he live closer to work in a more diverse area?) he wouldn't invite her unless she agreed to hold a serving tray all night.

Georgia is all ready in a state of racial tension, due to the flag issue, Bill's attempt to destroy Georgia's first Republican Governor since Reconstruction is, without a doubt, an assault on the GOP.

We should all let O'Reilly know how we feel about this. Also, when O'Reilly's young daughter becomes school age, we must demand that he sends her to a school in Harlem. The white kids who went to that prom attend a 55% African American majority high school and live more racially integrated lives than O'Reilly and his wealthy Long Island elitists ever have.

Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their balck peers from their private prom? Yes. Were they legally wrong? No. Does Sonny Perdue bear any culpability in the matter? Absolutely Not!

O'Reilly is now demanding that Perdue hold a press conference, go on The Factor, and/or go to this week's integrated prom.

I find O'Reilly's stance on this untenable and grotesque. Hobbling a Republican Governor (unfairly) driving up anti-Republican sentiment in the South (a region integral to Dubya's re-election) and galvanizing Southern Democrats is a clear sign that Bill is not on our team.

Maybe he's not on the D team either, perhaps, he is on his own team-- in a very Clintonian way. His jihad against Georgia's Governor is to appease the NYC, DC chattering class who think he is a racist and suspect his Jesse Jackson fixation is rooted in racism.

In a suck up to his critics, Bill O has thrown an innocent man to the wolves. This is outrageous!

and persecuting 18 years olds that

Don't agree with an all-white prom, but:
1. It's a private party.
2. Blacks on campuses do much worse segregationist acts and don't get slammed: black-only convocations, black-only student unions, black-only dorms, black-only graduations, black-only cafeterias, and on & on.....

No matter the issue, O'Reilly tends to take on an attitude that he is saving the world, at times.

Also, making the 18 year old white kids that went to the all-white prom national pariahs is not going to advance anything. I think the kids will mature and realize the insensitivity of what they have done, but putting scarlet Rs on them is no answer.

I'm wondering how many white kids weren't invited to that party. Is it just a party held by a certain clique? From the vehicles I saw them arriving in, it didn't exactly look as if just anyone, regardless of race, was invited.

He's an idiot and he is hurting Governor Perdue.

O'Reilly just made a Baldwin County issue a Georgia,if not, Southern issue. Bill has put Perdue in a no-win situation.

During all of the years the Democrats were in the State house (except for last year) Baldwin county has held private, segregated proms, why did none of Democrat Governors catch national Hell for it? Also, the integrated prom will still be held. O'reilly and others have succeeded in criminalizing a private prom.

Am I correct in that this all-white prom was a private function and NOT a school sponsored event? If so, it's none of the school's business, the gov of Georgia's business, or Bill O'Reilly's business.

It would be no worse than having a birthday party and being able to extend invitations to those you choose to attend.

O'Reilly frequently displays a self-righteous attitude that he has the right and obligation to tell everybody else how to behave and tends to sound like a preacher.

First off, 2 things. 1)The so called all white party, is NOT banning african americans from attending, but the spirit is for it to be all white, however, if somone wants to bring a black date, it is allowed (kind of kills the whole spirit of the idea, which was due to tension over inter-racial dating). There is also an integrated prom to begin with. The sad part to me, is that these kids have essentially given there high school negative national publicity and made themselves look like racists. How much damage is that going to do, to kids who come after them (no one even knew the name untill now, even with the so called segregated proms of the past) in regards to resumes, college applications, etc. Personally, I think O'Reilly is doing this, to get the spot light off of him, for some comments he made, that he was attacked for. To stop getting blasted, he picked another target to blast, and focus everyone on them, this way, if he spoofs off another comment, he can always point back to this incident.

No matter the issue, O'Reilly tends to take on an attitude that he is saving the world, at times.

Bill is becoming increasingly shrill. I've been a fan, but he's about to chase me off. Tonight, he was grotesque. He shouted that the governor should have gone to the city and led a charge against the all-white prom. And he was more than rude to the governor's press secretary, who happened to be black. He told her that all that she was saying was spin.

Methinks that O'Reilly doth protest too much.

Perdue has problems. The Atlanta media have been yapping at his heels, and now O'Reilly takes in after him!

He's doing a pretty good job of that all by himself.

Good point! Incidentally, many of the sanctimonious liberal elites who are so outraged by this send their kids to all-white schools. Any prom their kids attend, by definition, will look like Arkansas's Central High School prior to integration.

Why do the private segregated lives of media elites never get attention? Bill Bennet's private gambling is all over all the fish wrap. Why do liberals never get outted? Bill is no liberal, but he has done a great impression of one over the last two nights.

Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their black peers from their private prom? Yes.No. Not immoral. Freedom of association. On the other points, I agree. OReilly is a jackass.

Well, this is a sure sign that things are almost back to pre-911 normalcy. The week before 9/11, O'Reilly's undies were in a bundle because his flight to Chicago was delayed 15 minutes....FIFTEEN MINUTES! (a little O'Reilly lingo there) and he was demanding that Congress pass The Passengers Bill of Rights pronto.

I get a kick out of O'Reilly's forehead vein doing the Macarena, but once he starts demanding that government "do something"....well, that's when I start getting nervous.

When O'Reilly is calm, cool, and collected, he is more persuasive. However, when he launches into the "save-the-world" mode, he comes across as losing it, even when he is doing it on issues in which I agree with him.

I saw the show tonight. O'Reilly was insufferably rude and self-righteous.

I can't stand the buffoon.
