SPEND A FEW minutes with U.S. Rep. Ellen Tauscher, the most conservative Democrat in the Bay Area's congressional delegation, and you realize just how far to the right politics in Washington have shifted.

Very far.

Unbeknown to most Americans, she says, a "fundamentalist revolution" has taken place in the United States -- a revolution comparable to those that have taken place in the Islamic world.

"They would put nuclear tips on ice cream cones, if they could."

How utterly childish.

She is what I term a "media moderate". What she amounts to is a liberal who doesnt like paying taxes.

Sounds like her simple mind has been soaking up some Dowd/Ivins articles.

What's worse is that this "editorial writer" is taking it as revelation.

"Sounds like her simple mind has been soaking up some Dowd/Ivins articles."

Worth repeating.

That's a great idea. Why hadn't we thought of this before?

"principles: U.S. military domination, cutting taxes and shrinking the federal government, and expanding "faith- based" initiatives."

THIS is supposed to be 'evil' ?? I would hardly compare this with islamic jihad....unless you want to compare Bush & company to Stalin - then maybe you can say that the present White House is extreme-right.

So Bush is leading a "fundamentalist revolution"? Tell that to the fundamentalists on the other thread who are revolting against Bush. Interesting day.

>>"you realize just how far to the right politics in Washington have shifted."

No, you will see just how far LEFT politics was a short time ago.

It strange how they mention movement to the right, but never movement to the left?

It it takes a revivial to bring America right,
I say BRING IT ON!

When you are wrong,
and you know it,
and you are being defeated in the arena of ideas,

everybody else is extreme.

This POS trying to pass as a news article is why I cancelled my subscription to the SF GayRhonicle in 1992.

All of their reporters are mentally ill/drugged out whackos who hate America.

Good Americans should not visit San Francisco, Paris or Berlin until there are Regime changes in these left wing cities.

If they didn't basically give the GayRhonicle away, they would barely have any circulation.

When will the counterrevolution begin?

The counterrevolution has been going on since the 2000 election. With little success.

Man, if this is a Bay Area conservative, I'd hate to meet a liberal.

Ellen Tauscher, the most conservative Democrat in the Bay Area's congressional delegation

Which puts her just to the left of Stalin.

This guy is a long-time lefty. Check this out: How the global coffee glut threatens tropical forests By Louis Freedberg

Re: #6

Besides the puerile tone, take this sentence evoking a by a jilted lover:

Instead, like someone who was never invited to the prom, the phone never rang.

This also reminded me of Miss Dowd and her rage about her lost actor boyfriend - via Pokey's postings on the subject.
