Flanked by Trinity and Morpheus, Neo meets the Merovingian and his luscious wife Persephone (Monica Bellucci). The Merovingian is a Frenchman out of the Bush Administration bestiary: cruel, supercilious, with a love of cursing in Frenchwhich he describes as like "wiping your ass with silk." He refuses to release the Key Maker.

Scott7278, you are terribly confussed about the truth of the Scriptiure the quote you are reffering to is from Revelations 19:10 & 22:9 which is where John has and encounter with an Angel and he is so amazed he falls to worship the Angel and the Angel tells him not to do it,Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." And we know that Jesus is God & God is Jesus they are the same " "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
Do not be lead astray my false teachings read the whole Bible in context!

Well, this thread is marking "SPOILERS", so... my suspicion is that Neo is part human, part computer program. Zion is real, it's just that Neo can stop Sentinels since he's part program and access them.

Why is it any worse than "Luke, I am your Father." Mel Brooks lampooned that exquisitely in Spaceballs:
DARK HELMET: Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Starr.
LONE STARR: What?
DARK HELMET: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
LONE STARR: What's that make us?
DARK HELMET: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become.
To: Nakatu X
I agree with your assessment of the movie.

Does Zion = Israel since it is under attack and dies?

I can't really disagree with your take. It was good enough with the special effects for me to sit through it, but I kept waiting for the story to get better. It simply does not have the magic that the first one had.
In fairness though, I think "reloaded" is nothing but a bridge between the first part and the final part. If, and that's a big if, the final part is good it could rectifiy some of the problems in "reloaded" when looked at as a whole. I hope, but I doubt it.
Scenes that either don't make sense or should have been better:
the big "Smith" fight scene, as Clamboat pointed out, and there are other things with Smith that don't make sense.
the scene with the "oracle"
the scene in the restaurant with that "mega" dude (whatever his name was) and the kiss scene with "Persphine."
And the orgy in Zion, what's up with that?

Does Zion = Israel since it is under attack and dies? Though the name Zion is surely a biblical reference, I doubt a parallel to modern Israel is intended.

Im new to this, but just had to add to the discussion:
When Jesus calmed the storm and healed the 10 lepers - He received worship - and did not refuse it. In the book of Hebrews, Ch.1 v.6, the Father commands the angels to worship the Son. In the book of Revelation, when John falls down to worship the angel, the angel rebukes him and tells him to worship God alone - and since Jesus is God in the flesh - He is to be worshipped.
It doesn't matter who or what you are, the Bible is clear on the issue.

I saw the Matrix Reloaded and there was too much sex in this movie. I do not enjoy watching other people have sex. Also, I got the dis to President Bush and how they equated him to Hitler. I may not even go see the 3rd one, no matter how much I like sci-fi.

<> This was also a thought of mine. Why else would he be able to hurt the machines the way that he did? Maybe Trinity doesn't exist at all.

Actually they're saying that the Mer..uhh..Frenchman, got the termination code for her old body and used it, forcing her to inhabit a new form (or change it, or whatever).

DARK HELMET: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
LONE STARR: What's that make us?
DARK HELMET: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become.
Actually, it could mean that Dark Helmet was Lone Starr's former roommate.

Is this another 'Jesus' scenario?
Machine as God, controlling all we percieve. Man, trying to understand whether he is has true choice or is just a puppet of God/Machines.
Neo as the 'Jesus' figure. Both human and divine/mechanical.
But what 'sins' would Neo die for? What salvation can Neo possibly provide? Does this make Trinity the Mary Magdaline figure? Will the people of Zion 'crucify' Neo in the end?
Or is supposed to be more Darwinian, with Neo providing the evolutional link of man merging with machine to 'evolve' into a higher existence?
