I wondered about that also: turns out that the ship was too far out for the chopper to manage.

WOW - he's just such a man's man!! I too love your President. Deep down I consider him mine too. I belong to a Texas based daily prayer team thread for President Bush and other leaders. I also adopted a Marine to pray for each day. His name is John W.!! What a privilege. My own Prime minister makes me want to puke. But then I'm from the West and our votes really don't count. Ontario and Quebec elect the Prime Minister. Go figure, two Provinces can elect a PM with a majority Government with only 37% of the vote.!! I'll be old Hagala is seething along with her political partner, the Criminal in Chief.!!

A number of Air Force pilots serve as exchange pilots in the Marine Corps and the Navy and get carrier qual'd. There's also the case of the Air Force EA-6B aircrews who carrier qual'd in the early days of the Purple Squadrons.

And the Democrats are going to be running who to defeat this man? Democrats will run another candidate who appeals to the more easily conned segment of the population: "Well, as you know, Hillary fully supported the war in Iraq, so she gets full credit for this victory. Also, Clintons always have boom economies, while Bushes preside over recessions..."
We can not afford to get overconfident, even when it is obvious to any intelligent being that GW is a blessing to this country: unfortunately, a large chunk of our populace is capable of extreme stupidity, and the media exacerbates the situation: look how many voted for Gore!

I do mean RIO -- I thought it stood for Radar and Electronics Officer -- not what it does stand for, which is "Radar Interception Officer" or something like it.
My cousin's husband was flying Tomcats in the '70s. He is now a Captain in Navy, and has lots of aircraft under his command.
The story about the flaps probably was true, because it was late in the Carter administration or very early in the Reagan years (when the military was still recovering from the disasterous years prior to Reagan).

I love it. The only photo that could possibly enhance your trio is the picture of Clinton on the USS Roosevelt in 1993 looking through binoculars with the lense caps still in place, while his entourage pilfered souveniers any and everywhere they could from the ship and it's crew. Shades of actions future! Ali Klintoon and his band of 40 theifs.
Such class, gravitas and style.

Go figure, two Provinces can elect a PM with a majority Government with only 37% of the vote.!! So now you understand why we have the Electoral College down here. Every time the EC results in a different outcome from the popular vote (1960, 2000) there are the predictable cries that it should be abolished.
Better to abolish the Union first, because it would amount to the same thing.

EXACTLY!! Your voting system is much much BETTER than ours. In fact, I don't think the Parliamentary system, originally given to us by Britan is a very good system at all. It lacks all the safeguards of your system. You may not recall but a couple about 15 years ago we had a Conservative, Joe Clark, voted in as Prime Minister. He was in for all of about 3 months but it was a Minority government. Well lo and behold, some issue which escapes me now, came up and the opposition (Liberals) took a No-confidence vote and over turned the government. That could NOT happen in your system.
