considering what x42 used to do because he knew the majority of the troops were embarrassed, it a breath of fresh air to see the behavior of this president.

I love the fact that the pictures make it clear that President Bush does not need the secret service for this trip.

"He sure looks like a guy that knows how to carry his flight gear."
And that speaks volumes!!
BTW: I was on the ramp when Clinton flew into our NAS. He had an army running around carrying his trash and he seemed almost disgusted to be shaking our hands! In hindsight, knowing what shenanigans he was probably up to, I should have looked disgusted and washed my hand in bleach!

If Cmdr. Lussier is a full commander rather than a Lt. Cmdr., I'll be willing to bet he makes Captian real soon. Great job flying and landing our Dubya safely on the 'Abe,' Cmdr. Lussier. Bravo!

Not to sully the thread, but if you click on the large jpeg image, you'll see a very smug Beelzebubba.

President Bill Clinton is piped aboard as he goes through the sideboys on the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV 62) at her homeport of Yokosuka, Japan, on Wednesday, April 17, 1996. The President took time out from his state visit to Japan to meet with the crew of the carrier and to thank them for their role in representing U.S. interests during their deployment off the coast of Taiwan.
