True frightening point... New California law requires employers to hire the likes of this "thing".

I believe it to be true that ALL state assembly members are democrats or independents.

I scary part is that I think know that dude. My sister is a bio professor at Santa Monica college, and when I went to visit her one day she pointed out a professor (of what, I forget) who looked exactly like that.

No, there are some actual conservative republicans assembly members -- but they are vastly outnumbered.

Here's some more information to complete the story :

The assembly just informed their security members that they cannot wear yellow ribbons or flags on their uniforms because it might offend someone.

But then they passed a bill saying that it is illegal to discriminate against anyone based upon them dressing as whatever gender they perceive themselves to be a part of on any given day.

That is, an employer can't do a thing if they dress as a woman one day and a guy the next if that is how they perceive their sexual orentation to be on that day. [I guess they can also use the ladies room one day and the men's the next, but I haven't heard that mentioned.]

Now, let's tie this in with the bill they just passed a week or so ago saying that an employer is legally liable if an employee is hurt emotionally while on the job. This one means that is a male clerk at McDonalds dresses like a woman one day (see picture above), and then a patron comes in and orders a burger and then does anything which the clerk can perceive as being hurtful (a comment, laugh, or look) then the company is liable, not the patron.

So in summation : They ban people from wearing a flag or a yellow ribbon, but protect people who dress as members of the opposite sex and then make the employers liable if a cross-dresser gets their feelings hurt by someone who doesn't work for the company. [We won't even get into the illegal-to-not-hire-transexuals law.]
