My one saving grace is that my kids are smart enough to recongnize the stupidity contained in their text books. The one thing the schools have taught my kids well is that government entities are not fair.

I think they should take it a step further and show pale skinned Scandinavians dressed like savages and hunting buffalo on the planes of Kansas. Let's spread the stereotypes around -- history isn't as important as feeling good.

"I shudder for our children and our country. We are in the process of killing ourselves and our civilization."
Death by a thousand cuts.

The word "jungle" has been replaced with "rain forest.Don't forget that "swamp" is now "wetlands"...

Jefferson was a sell-out to the Anti-Federalist cause and promptly got the US into a war when he became President. That's one way to look at it. Another way is that Jefferson, like Lincoln and F.D. Roosevelt after him, had to live in the real world with exterior forces and events constraining what they could do.
I assume you are refering to the expedition against the Barbary pirates, who were preying on American shipping. To say that Jefferson "got us into a war" is a rather shallow analysis, akin to the current crop of simplifiers who think Iraq is all about oil.

"For example, the new guidelines dictate Native-Americans should not be depicted with long braids, in rural settings or on reservations."When I was in college, I played on a city-league softball team that was started by a couple of Navajo students who were friends of one of my friends. One of the Navajo students always wore his hair in long braids (the other one did so quite often), but not only that, he wore them hanging out from under a "Billy Jack" hat. AND, (I'm not making this up!), he was followed everywhere he went (even onto the softball field) by his wolf-hybrid dog! LOL!! Talk about a stereotype! I had a great time playing softball with these guys since they were into having fun and going to school without getting all hung up about "stereotypes" and all that other junk. Oh, and they also refered to themselves as Indian, not Native American.

FDR can be Gay (no wait, he was disabled, so we'll leave him)
And a greater tragedy than WWII? That FDR lived in such an intolerant society he had to pretend NOT to be challenged...
Not to worry about the children, they don't believe any of this crap. All it teaches the children is that adults are idiots, fools, and begging to be conned.

A local school board recently started getting angry phone calls because there was so much "diversity" on their photographed marketing pieces, that no Anglos appeared.

"We need to make sure that all ethnicities are represented. We need to make sure that both males and females are represented. We need to make sure that our materials cover the full gamut."They're also making sure that white males are roundly trashed.
Liberals can all go to hell!
