NBC News correspondant Ashleigh Banfield has ripped television news networks, including her own, for their 'glorious' coverage of the Iraq war and lack of focus on international news overall.
In a speech Thursday at Kansas State University, she also attacked NBC News for hiring right wing radio talk show host Michael Savage to do a show on MSNBC. Savage recently called Banfield a 'slut' after her reports portraying the radical Arab point of view.
Banfield, who first won notoriety for her coverage from the World Trade Center on 9/11, might be in some trouble for her comments.
In a statement issued in Friday, NBC News said, 'Ms. Banfield does not speak for NBC News. We are deeply disappointed and troubled by her remarks, and will review her comments with her. In the meantime we want to emphasize how proud we are of the journalism produced by NBC News and of the men and women who worked around the clock, even risking their lives, to bring this story to the American public.'

I think those glasses add to her sex appeal. It's probably that whole "repressed librarian just waiting to get wild" thing I've got stuck in my head. Yeah, I've got issues.

Ashley Minefield started out as a local anchor here in Dallas.
It wasn't very long ago, either...a couple of years, I believe.
What a short career.

Actually, when I say "started out" in Dallas, I mean that's the first time I saw her.

Ash - was one of the biggest antagonsists I think this site has seen before what's-her-name-mom (MarlinMom or something like that) - and he was never banned. Called every name in the book, but, one day (well maybe it took several) he (or she?) just posted less and less and finally disappeared into the sunset ...

When you get through with her she will have 20/20 vision and won't need them.
You should hang out a shingle.

Hmmm...interesting. I guess I sorta perform self-winnowing and just skip over some posters without really reading their stuff.
I'm not an absolutist. There ARE people who destroy threads, civility and flow, so...I do believe in rules, just, maybe mine are broader!

Wow.
I used to think she was a good reporter...this is bad.
I am glad she is dropping in star power.

...did Barbee ever come clean on what his/her 'nick was over in past 2 years?...No, amigo. Got any theories? Let's see who comes to the next Savage party. Cheers, By

"Of course you can handle Savage and not Moore. Savage's message is the truth and Moore's is a lie.You just don't like Savage's style."
No.... Savage's style is a louder Hannity, and he is a bit more showy... which is ok.
BUT, I just prefer someone not me I'm for abortion if I disagree with their idea on something I think is unrelated. That is using a tactic the left uses in arguments. It is rude and wrong, and he should apologize, I don't think we need someone to tell us our views on subjects by drawing obscure parallels.

This is what passes for 'journalists' these days?
Banfield is just another America hating liberal fool.

It came to me - the name of the other some-what active poster I was referring to - "Murraymom".
If you know how - look up posts under that name for an example of 'an alternative left-wing view' that is tolerated and not banned ...

I used to think she was a good reporter..She exhibited no special talent or insight during her time with the Fox station as an on-air reporter in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market - she wasn't missed when she left. We have lost several that I *do* miss however, like Christine Sorensen from the NBC affiliate.

"If we had paid more attention to Afghanistan in the '80s, we might not have had 9/11," she said. Notice how she makes no mention to the ignoring of said Afghanistan during the 90's while the Clinton/Gore administration was in power? Gee, I am just wondering if maybe the Babe isn't a democrat with an axe to grind against conservatives! Surely not, since she is obviously one of the few professional "journalists" who knows how to do her job right!!! (gag)
