The EGS-AGU-EUG Joint Assembly took place in Nice, France, from April 7 to 11.

Yep. They were definately smoking something. I bet they watched A.I.(Artificial Intelegence) 10 times too many too.

And as usual, this write-up is laden with Fear, Uncertainty, and Deception.

Oh yeah! Waterworld was a God awful movie and it seems the bad luck associated with the use of this word to describe some fantasy future is repeating itself with these wacky scientists.

As a current subscriber to New Scientist, I would say that it is by far the most "liberal" science rag I have ever read. It is usually anti-American in its slant, anti-capitalist, and pro-envirowhining. The funniest front page editorial was about 4 weeks ago when they blasted Rumsfield for the quagmire in Iraq. By the time the magazine reached my house, the freaking war was all but over, it was a hoot. Needless to say, I am not renewing my subscription. I'll read the interesting stories off their website.

Global warming is definitely happening, and I am responsible for what I say. If we do not stop all warming activities, the entire planet will roast in hell. All denial of global warming is propoganda, created by the infidel snakes who drive their SUV's. Even as I speak, millions of lizards are committng suicide in the hot sun.

So when do the spaceships land to bring us more water?

Glad to see the earth's warming considering the Northeast just went through one of the coldest winters in recorded history.

Bring it on, those heating bills are a pain.

As the world gets warmer, it is getting wetter. And one of the main conclusions reached at Europe's largest ever earth sciences conference was that we are less prepared for it than ever.

Mankind's impact is only 0.28% of Total Greenhouse effect

" There is no dispute at all about the fact that even if punctiliously observed, (the Kyoto Protocol) would have an imperceptible effect on future temperatures -- one-twentieth of a degree by 2050. "

Dr. S. Fred Singer, atmospheric physicist
Professor Emeritus of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia,
and former director of the US Weather Satellite Service;
in a Sept. 10, 2001 Letter to Editor, Wall Street Journal

lower tropospheric temps chart

This chart shows the monthly temperature changes for the lower troposphere - Earth's atmosphere from the surface to 8 km, or 5 miles up. The temperature in this region is more strongly influenced by oceanic activity, particularly the "El Niño" and "La Niña" phenomena, which originate as changes in oceanic and atmospheric circulations in the tropical Pacific Ocean. The overall trend in the tropospheric data is near zero, being +0.04 C/decade through Feb 2002. Click on the chart to get the numerical data.
