For those of you who may not know, Gracia and her husband Martin were held by Abu Sayyaf terrorists for over a year. Martin was killed in the ambush as well as a Filipina nurse, Deborah Yap. Gracia had a bullet through her thigh. This story is about their year in captivity.

ooops - Martin was killed during the rescue - not the ambush. Sorry about that.

Thanks for posting this. I have a copy of her book in my hand, we just got it from the publisher at my library. It is a well written book and just reading a few words brings tears to my eyes. I recommend this highly.

Something good to read. Pass this on to others if you know of someone who might be interested.

I have the book! I have it set aside for summer reading...looking so forward. The faith the Burnham's lived while in captivity is nothing short of amazing. <><

I'm going to have to get this one. I loved her dedication.
"This book is dedicated to...you. If you prayed for Martin and me while we were in captivity -- even once -- them put your name here. It is because of your prayers that I came out alive and am able to tell the story. Likewise, I hope to become one who earnestly prays and cares for others who are hurting. We truly need each other, don't we?"

Gracia's demeanor is so precious. I'm humbled at her courage under trial and devotion to our Lord. She is certainly an example of faith in action.
