Rep. Martin Frost's (D) aide identified in theft video from Texas redistricting hearing
Republican Party of Texas Press Release

AUSTIN Susan Weddington, Republican Party of Texas Chairman, today called on Congressman Martin Frost, D-Arlington, to cooperate with the Department of Public Safetys investigation into the theft of a state employees property.
On April 10, a folio containing congressional redistricting maps was stolen from a committee room in the state capitol. The folio and its contents belong to a GOP legislative aide. DPS has video footage of three men, including one identified as Frost senior aide Gerry Hebert, apparently leaving the committee room with the loot. Shortly after the theft, Rep. Frost produced one of the purloined maps to reporters in Washington, D.C.
Martin Frost has an obligation to cooperate fully with the Department of Public Safetys investigation and should immediately explain how he obtained this stolen map, said Weddington. If Rep. Frost knew that he was in possession of stolen goods, he has violated Texans trust and his most sacred responsibilities as a public servant.
DPS is investigating the theft as a class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to a $2,000 fine and 180 days in jail. If the pilfered goods were transported from Texas to Washington, D.C., the crime may be a federal offense.

For those who don't know the details behind this story: Last year the Texas House was controlled by the 'rats while the Senate was Republican. As a result, the legislature could not agree upon congressional redistricting and a court imposed a map keeping existing lines intact. Those lines are heavily gerrymandered to the Democrat's favor and give them a 17 to 15 seat advantage.
Republicans won majorities in both the state House and Senate last November, so the Texas Legislature's redistricting committee is currently considering new Congressional district maps. If they pass they could give the GOP as many as 4-5 more seats in the U.S. Congress, and in doing so virtually solidify a Republican majority for the better part of a decade.
This has the Dems shaking, including Martin Frost, who is one of the 'rat congressmen who could get booted out once his gerrymandered district is dissassembled. So now they're apparently resorting to theft in order to impede redistricting

This is an outrage but I fear there will be no penalty for Frost.

The solution is simple - - gerrymander that scumbag Martin Frost into oblivion. Why play games? Hey Texas GOP! Get some spine and just DO IT! Frost has handed you all the ammo you need, on a silver platter.

He'll go to jail the same time as the Dem aid who stole the Republican strategy disk is arrested.

Don't you know... The rats will whine and say they just had no idea that video wasn't meant to be taken and the other rats who vote these slimes into office will believe it.
Heck, by the time all this plays out, it'll be twisted around to make the Republicans look like they TEMPTED and BAITED him - just so they could embarrass him! You see, rats are just VICTIMS!
ARGHHHH!!!

"Apparently"? The tape tells the tale. Red handed. Dead to rights.
This is all just a warmup for the big show in 2004. We'd better be ready for fraud and voter fraud, the likes of which has rarely been seen. It's gonna be all out war and the 'Pubbies better not get caught sleeping.

The Democrapic Austin D.A. (I believe his name is Ronnie Earl?) will not budge a finger against a fellow democrap.
He makes it a habit of targeting Republicans. Anyone remember his smear campaign against Kay Hutchinson while she was transitioning from state treasurer to U.S. Senate?
This D.A. conveniently sat on his hands regarding former TX attorney general Dan Morales and his grift of Texas' tobacco settlement.
This latest democrap dog and pony show will be swept under the rug to never be heard from ag'in.

I don't think you needed to include the (D) for us to know it was a Democrat. If it is crooked, you can be sure the Democrats are in it right up to the very top of their pointed heads.

Does this explain why the Libs in the media and congress are pushing the Santorum thing so hard. I believe Frostgate and the NOW posthumous re-killing of Connor Petersen (laci's baby, not fetus)explains the hard push against Santorum-- change the subject, depend on media bias and on and on.
When will the people demand a press that announces its' partisan slant-- the faux neutrality of the mainstream press shows how much Big Media hates and condescends to its audience.

How is this playing in the news in Texas? It's circulating in the political circles like wildfire, though I don't expect the "mainstream" media to cover it much beyond maybe in Dallas. The Houston Chronicle is a far-left wing piece of trash and they've been both editorializing and newsitorializing for months against efforts by Republicans to redistrict. They briefly mentioned the theft at the tail end of an article yesterday, which came out before the video identified Frost's aide. But the bulk of that article, and its title, covered a press conference or something with Frost whining about the evil republicans who were trying to undo the "will of the people" by redistricting.

The Democrats have to learn to avoid the camera.
IIRC, the woman who stole the Bush debate tapes was also caught in candid camera at the US Post Office mailing the loot to Gore' campaign.

Democrats, including their lawyer members, are arrogant vermin who defecate on the law. They sincerely believe that it does not apply to them.
The democrats are not so much a political entity, as they an organized criminal menace to our nation.
One does not negotiate or reason with such evil. One must only destroy such a clear and present danger.

There was a president once who had to resign over something like this, so I REALLY hope one of the Democrats in Texas says "everyone does it"...
