Being A Celebrity...by Brad Paisely.

Posted on 04/21/2003 8:24:41 PM PDT by ConservativeMan55

Someday I'm gonna be famous, Do I have talent, well, no. These days you don't really need it, Thanks to reality shows

Can't Wait to date a supermodel, Can't Wait to sue my dad. Can't wait to wreck a Ferrari On my way to rehab....

Chorus- Cause when you're a Celebrity It's adios reality You' can act just like a fool People think you're cool Just cause your on TV. I can throw major fits When my latte isn't just how I like it They say I've gone insane, I'll blame it on the fame, And the pressures that it goes with Being a Celebrity uh huh

I get to cry to Barbara Walters, When Things don't go my way. I'll get community service No matter which law I break

I'll make the supermarket tabloids, They'll write some awful stuff But the more they run my name down, THE MORE MY PRICE GOES UP!

Chorus- Cause when you're a Celebrity, It's adios reality. No matter what you do, People think you're cool, Just cause you're on TV. I can fall in and out of love, Have marriages that barely last a month. When they go down the drain I'll blame it on fame And say it's just so tough. Being a Celebrity

So let's hitch up the wagons and head out west To the land of fun in the sun We'll be real world bachelors Jackass Millionaires Hey, Hey, Hollywood Here we come!

Chorus- Yeah, When you're a Celebrity It's adios reality No matter what you do, People think you're cool, Just cause you're on t.v. ...Being a Celebrity ...Yeah Celebrity! ...uh-huh "Where's my coffee?"

The fact of the matter is that this doesn't just apply to one or two left wing celebrities...but all of the left wing celebrities!

I like this one as well.

Toby Keith's new song with Willie Nelson:

Example, his duet with Willie Nelson goes like this:

Well, a man come on the 6 o'clock news,
Said somebody's been shot, somebody's been abused.
Somebody blew up a building, somebody stole a car.
Somebody got away. somebody didn't get too far, yeah.
They didn't get too far.
Grandpappy told my pappy: "Back in my day, son,
"A man had to answer for the wicked that he done.
"Take all the rope in Texas, find a tall oak tree,
"Round up all of them bad boys, hang them high in the street,
"For all the people to see that:

"Justice is the one thing you should always find.
"You got to saddle up your boys,
"You got to draw a hard line.
"When the gunsmoke settles, we'll sing a victory tune.
"We'll all meet back at the local saloon,
"We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces,
"Singing: 'Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses.'"

We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds,
We've got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets.
It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground.
Send 'em all to their maker and he'll settle 'em down:
You can bet he'll settle 'em down 'cause,

Justice is the one thing you should always find.
You got to saddle up your boys,
You got to draw a hard line.
When the gunsmoke settles, we'll sing a victory tune.
We'll all meet back at the local saloon,
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces,
Singing: "Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses."

Justice is the one thing you should always find.
You got to saddle up your boys,
You got to draw a hard line.
When the gunsmoke settles, we'll sing a victory tune.
We'll all meet back at the local saloon,
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces, Singing: "Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses."

Clint Blacks new song.

Lyrics (as they appear on his web site -- they're in ALL CAPS on his web site, so I've left them that way):

"I RAQ AND I ROLL"

YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS
THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN
ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN

IF EVERYONE WOULD GO FOR PEACE
THERE'D BE NO NEED FOR WAR
BUT WE CAN'T IGNORE THE DEVIL
HE'LL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE

SOME SEE THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE
OTHERS ONLY GRAY
BUT WE'RE NOT BEGGING FOR A FIGHT
NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY

WE'VE GOT THE RESOLUTION
THAT SHOULD PUT

'EM ALL TO SHAME
BUT IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF DEADLINE
WHEN I'M CALLED IN THE GAME

CHORUS

I RAQ, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I PRAY FOR PEACE AND PREPARE FOR WAR
AND I NEVER WILL FORGET
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

THE TERROR ISN'T MAN TO MAN
THEY CAN BE NO MORE THAN COWARDS
IF THEY WON'T SHOW US THEIR WEAPONS
WE MIGHT HAVE TO SHOW THEM OURS

IT MIGHT BE A SMART BOMB
THEY FIND STUPID PEOPLE TOO
IF YOU STAND WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM
ONE JUST MIIGHT FIND YOU

CHORUS II

I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I GOT INFRARED, GPS AND GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD
NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

BRIDGE

NOW YOU CAN COME ALONG
OR YOU CAN STAY BEHIND
OR YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE WAY
BUT OUR TROOPS TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE
FOR THE GOOD OLD U.S.A.

I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
IN THE USA
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M TALKIN' ABOUT THE USA

I don't know, but a good title would be, "Egomaniacs Who Take Themselves Much Too Seriously". Or, if you want to be hip, "E-Go Maniacs Who Take Themselves Much 2 Serious-lee".

Just permit me some space to pontificate for a moment. From the time it was founded back in the early twentieth century, Hollywood has always had more than its fair share of scandal. Somehow, money and fame make (some) people do some rather foolish things. Multiple marriages, adulterous relationships, drinking and gambling habits-you name it, they've done it. Nothing new under the sun there. The difference between the stars of yesteryear and those of today is that the current crop believes they have somehow elevated themselves above merely being "Movie Stars"; they are 'activists' or 'spokespersons' for some cause or another, thus deeming themselve to be taken seriously. They are racked with guilt for their wealth, so therefore, must have a 'concern' for those less fortunate, the "I care" School of Feeling.
I personally find this moral grandstanding appalling. Not to mention phony. While old-time Hollywood was far from perfect, at least they were TRULY willing to serve their communities and their country. Where has anyone seen a list of current celebrities enlisting in the Armed Forces? Don't hold your breath or try looking-you'll go blind or die trying. How many have done USO Shows since 9/11? Relatively few that I know of. A revision of the Hollywood Canteen (Bette Davis was one of the founders)? Forget it.
And yet they wonder why the majority of the American people continue to reject them. Truly astounding.

-Regards, T.

There are many means for killing men, as men, today. They all operate in the same direction: no truth, no morality...The common media of cinema and television will do it effectively for you.

Our culture is largely marked by relativism and ultimate meaningless.

I agree. I do believe it is possible to overcome certain obstacles that money and fame can throw in your way. Many celebrities including country artists, and others who were brought up properly do not let it go to their heads.

The latest from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Red, White, and Blue

We don't have no plastic L.A. Frynds,
ain't on the edge of no popular trend.
Ain't never seen the inside of that magazine GQ.
We don't care if you 're a lawyer, or a texas oil man,
or some waitress busting ass in some liquor stand.
If you got Soul
We hang out with people just like you

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

Ride our own bikes To Sturgis
we pay our own dues,
smoking camels, drinking domestic blues
You want to know where I have been
just look at my hands
Yeah, I've driven by the White House,
Spent some time in jail.
Momma cried but she still wouldn't pay my bail.
I ain't been no angel,
But even God, he understands.

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

Yeah that's right!
My Daddy worked hard, and so have I,
paid our taxes and gave our lives
to serve this great country
so what are they complaining about

Yeah we love our families, we love our kids
you know it is love that makes us all so rich
That's where were at,
If they don't like it they can just
get the HELL out!

Yeah!

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

I love the Celebrity video! I just turned on GAC and "Have You Forgotten" is #1 again. Big surprise! Lots of patriots in that genre.
