Dems secretly wish for Iraq disaster
The Washington Times

Gary Kamiya, executive editor of the left-leaning Internet journal Salon (www.salon.com), confirms what some Americans have only suspected: Liberals were cheering for the enemy in Iraq. "I have a confession: I have at times, as the war has unfolded, secretly wished for things to go wrong," Mr. Kamiya wrote last week. "Wished for the Iraqis to be more nationalistic, to resist longer. Wished for the Arab world to rise up in rage. Wished for all the things we feared would happen. I'm not alone: A number of serious, intelligent, morally sensitive people who oppose the war have told me they have had identical feelings." More casualties would have been a preferred alternative to the "larger moral negative" of a victory that boosted President Bush's chances for re-election, he said. "Many antiwar commentators have argued that once the war started, even those who oppose it must now wish for the quickest, least-bloody victory followed by the maximum possible liberation of the Iraqi people," he wrote. "But there is one argument against this: What if you are convinced that an easy victory will ultimately result in a larger moral negative four more years of Bush, for example, with attendant disastrous policies, or the betrayal of the Palestinians to eternal occupation, or more imperialist meddling in the Middle East or elsewhere? "Wishing for things to go wrong is the logical corollary of the postulate that the better things go for Bush, the worse they will go for America and the rest of the world."

Why is this revelation not getting any legs?

Probably the same reason it didn't get any in Vietnam.

If Kamiya's position is legitimate, then so is my postulate that anyone who votes for a RAT is committing treason.

If the Socialist newspapers put it on the front pages, the DemoRats might not win California next election. Think of all the Ca. families with men in the overseas military who would learn the truth.

Dear Mr. Kamiya: Wish in one hand, s**t in the other, and see which one fills up first.

Why is this revelation not getting any legs? Why because most people consider this an obvious fact such as "Sun comes up.") and not much of a relevation.

Those on the Left in government, the media, on campuses, and in the general public want things to go wrong not because America and the world might suffer (if things go Prersident Bush's way) but because they believe its the path back to the White House for the Democrats. They could care less about America, or any other nation. They only care about political power. The failure of our efforts in Iraq, the Middle East, North Korea, or any where else is their most fervant dream. They are simply that calculating and craven and cowardly. And, to carry on the alliteration, the three politicians who come to mind are Carter and Clinton and Clinton.

A couple of things: 1) He's STILL wishing for a catastrophe for America; 2) It isn't a confession at all. It's a coded way of bragging about his "purity" to his comrades.

Wished for all the things we feared would happen. If he wished for them to happen, they he couldn't really fear that they would happen, could he? What he really means is all the things he claimed to "fear" would happen, but was secretly hoping would happen. He is duplicious even in his confession.
