Cold War Part II. Add in the French. The Germans may get one chance to come grovelling back, and maybe not.
The Russian bastards haven't really changed at all, or learned anything at all from the first time we took them down.

Those utter bastards.
Completely heartless Ruskies!

The papers also revealed how Moscow had given Saddam a list of assassins, details of Russian arms deals with countries in the Middle East, and Osama bin Laden's plans to fund camps to train Arab terrorists to fight in Chechnya. Why would Russia give information regarding terrorists trained to fight in Chechnya to Saddam? The Russians are the ones fighting for control of Chechnya.
This statement alone is enough for me to doubt the veracity of this report.

None of this makes sense. What are we to make of this? That Saddam needed the Russians to tell him the fuss would be about hidden WMD? He couldn't pick up a newspaper? He couldn't figure out that the best way to foil the infidel Americans was to cooperate fully with inspectors?

I'm just asking: Weren't Bush and Putin kissy face a while back?
And, if anyone reading this knows, what do biblical scholars say about Russia and the end times?
Thanks.
To: MadIvan
As bad as this is, we're releasing
only what we want the Russians to see...
We can imagine there is, or will be far more damaging evidence of Russian back-stabbing than is let on at this point. Perhaps we shall also discover further proof of a collaborative Russian-German-French conspiracy?

The old (rotting) socialist Europe play to create a new bi-polar power structure was much more advanced than was ever considered during this episode. More than wondering if they were attempting this on the fly -- using the Iraqi event as an impetus -- we maybe should think that this was planned well in advance (we did broadcast our intentions pretty clearly post - 9/11), and the Iraqi event was merely used as an unveiling for what was already a mature concept.
To: MadIvan
I guess Bush could have had all his plans stopped if Iraq had complied with 1441. That seems pretty simple.

Excuse me ... they were only protecting their interests; even if they did conflict with the USA. Why is everybody having such a knee-jerk reaction?
Wouldn't you want us to protect our interests in the same way ...??
Besides, it's obvious Saddam didn't listen to them. They miscalculated because Saddam has such an ego, he would not listen to anyone; they wasted their breath.

Because we're the last "Superpower", thus ineligable for fairness from the international community. Don't pay any attention to China standing in the corner awaiting the right time to pounce on you.
Should the anti-Americans get the communist government they pine for the greatest enablers (Kennedy, Schumer, Feinstein, Waxman, Rangel, Braun, etc.) would be very surprised to find the gun-barrel pressed against their heads first. They're just too stupid to understand what their doing.

'Russian spies told Saddam how Bush would justify war' I seem to remember George Bush telling Saddam how he would justify war.
