Michael Savage also said that we needed to hear all the details about how, where, in which orifices and how many times Elizabeth Smart was raped.

Michael Savage is a jerk supreme.

My prediction: At some future time, one of Nicole's children will kill OJ for revenge.

This site is fraught with hopeless optimism.

Wow. Did Michael Savage also say brush your teeth before bed, it's not over till the fat lady sings, and let's take this one game at a time?

........

It had to do with that little thing called innocent until proven guilty in a court of law!

But heck why let that get in anyones way!

As for my opinion (Scott did it)

**I think the biggest fear about his getting into Mexico is extradition from Mexico of a prisoner who might be tried for a death penalty case. **

True. A dear friend of mine was murdered by her husband. He was found in a little area of Mexico known to be frequented by anarchists and sickos fleeing the law. He was extradited on the condition of no death penalty. grrr.

Todd, is this a court of law? Or the court of public opinion. Btw, Michael Savage is an ass, so he only encourages me to take a contrary position.

He is just pissed off and jealous that his radio appearance last night was cancelled because of this case. It is all about him.

I was on the ground floor with Savage. I listened to his very first broadcast on KGO, when he started his schtick, before he got moved over to the sister station, then eventually got syndicated.

It is all an act, and not a very good one. His first several shows, he tried to portray himself as a contrary liberal... that didn't fly, so he switched over to a meaner and less funny, and more outlandish version of Rush. That didn't fly that well either. He has been adjusting his schtick constantly. It is all schtick.

Back to topic. Scott is not getting away with this. I don't see what pool of jurors his defense team are going to try to get that will feel sorry for a guy who screwed around on his wife, and was acting wierd the day she vanished, in the area he took off to coincidentally.

There is no reason to get life insurance on a non-breadwinner. The purpose of life insurance is to make sure that dependent survivors are not in dire straits should the primary breadwinner die.

I don't totally disagree, but think about if you were the bread-winning husband in a marriage with several children. If your wife passed, you would need some extra income to take care of all of the changes coming your way. You would have to find care for the children while you worked, probably take some time off to deal with all the difficulties, etc.

That being said, I am not disagreeing with your opinion as it relates to Scott!

It is my understanding Scott and Laci took out insurance policies on each other after they learned of the pregnancy.

My husband and I did the same thing. Mine is 1/4 of what his is, but if anything should happen to me, he would have $ to ensure help in childrearing and schooling...and could take a leave of absence in order to care for things on the homefront and begin to heal. Since I do not work outside the home his policy is more.

Basically still the same emotionless eyes...but there's a hint of worry there. I hope he's frightened.

.like the $250,000 insurance policy he took out on her a couple of months before her death.

There is no reason to get life insurance on a non-breadwinner. The purpose of life insurance is to make sure that dependent survivors are not in dire straits should the primary breadwinner die.

I happen to think he is guilty also, but there is a much more innocent explanation for the insurance. Scott had life insurance through his employment. Scott will argue that if Laci were to die he would have been left a single dad with a baby to raise. The insurance would have paid for that.

In complete agreement with your post about life insurance.

btw...it was discussed a few months ago that Scott and Laci purchased life insurance policies on each other after learning of the pregnancy.

**Guarantee you, now that he's a "jailbird" he'll have women swarming all over him (figuratively, of course, since the only action he's likely to get is that which he undoubtedly doesn't want). **

I thought of that yesterday, Illbay. There are sicko women who'd love to be a part of him somehow. That should feed his sickened ego, huh?

**Barabbas, a.k.a. Mark Fuhrman. Funny, all these "Mark Fuhrman is the scum of the earth" types here on FR have grown strangely quiet since he almost single-handedly won justice for Martha Moxley, and has been a fascinating commentator on issues of criminal justice on the Fox News Channel. Who'd'a thunk such a racist bigot homophobe would have a brain? **

Mark Fuhrman is great. IMO.

His corporate life insurance policy may not have been much. In an earlier post I explained what my husband and I did..

I don't know... I don't have time to read all of the stuff on this case considering all the other interesting things going on the world. From what I remember reading about the mother, though, it wouldn't surprise me.

Somewhat true, but not completely. A major reason for life insurance is as you state; but there are other legitimate reasons. I maintained a life insurance policy on my wife even though she had quit her job. She handled all of the things that had to get done during the day that come up when you have a child(ren). If she had passed away I would have had to find a way to handle those things myself, perhaps at the cost of re-negotiating my work requirements to permit more flexible hours at a lower salary. I was not interested in hitting a jackpot, I wanted to provide for my daughter.

But, on the other hand, his timing on buying the insurance policy stinks.

Scott Peterson arrives at the Stanislaus County Jail in Modesto, Calif., from San Diego late Friday, April 19, 2003 after he was arrested in the death of his wife, Laci, who was eight months pregnant when she vanished on Christmas Eve. The arrest came as authorities confirmed that two bodies that washed ashore this week were those of Laci and her baby. (AP Photos/Paul Sakuma)
