michael savage said last night that scott is not guilty until proven so.In a court of law, yes.
In the court of public opinion, no.
Just as I did in the O.J. case, I reserve the right to convict Peterson of murder in the court of my own mind. Because that "conviction" will have absolutely no effect on Pterson's freedom, wealth, or health, it is fully permitted and appropriate.

Wasden wouldn't discuss possible motives for the alleged murder... ...like the $250,000 insurance policy he took out on her a couple of months before her death.
There is no reason to get life insurance on a non-breadwinner. The purpose of life insurance is to make sure that dependent survivors are not in dire straits should the primary breadwinner die.
The purpose of life insurance is NOT to enable the survivor(s) to hit the jackpot.
The very existence of the insurance policy speaks volumes.

It's also peculiar that he would drive 6 hours round-trip for a 1 hour fishing trip on Christmas Eve.

He says that Peterson indicated moments before his arrest that he discovered he was under police surveillance. It never occurred to him before then that he might be under police surveillance? They probably watched him the whole time while he was buying his hair bleach and packing his bags. Scott doesn't seem all that bright ---but then OJ wasn't either and he got by with it.

I am suprised that he was able to pull these murders off and it took the authorities this long to wrap up the case. He just doesn't seem that smart to me. Four months is not a huge amount of time. But mainly, they wanted the bodies and it four months for the bodies to appear. Hopefully, that will make it easier to prosecute.
To: mombonn
but they didn't want to mess around with exradition issues.
That's right - Mexico is one of those country that won't extradite if there's any possibility of a death penalty.

Evil lives and we should have all due knowledge. Poppycock. You'll never convince a majority of Americans that we don't get "all evil all the time", 24/7.
I REPEAT: You have no right to "know" anything.
Live with it.

Of course, now he'll probably say he was framed.Isn't it true his mother has already made that statement to the press?

michael savage said last night that scott is not guilty until proven so. Wow. Did Michael Savage also say brush your teeth before bed, it's not over till the fat lady sings, and let's take this one game at a time?
I am not convinced that Scott did it now. If Michael Savage has doubts... it changes everything.

Yeah, that's a good point.
FWIW, I don't see any way around it but to conclude he's guilty.

Obviously, you're not a financial planner nor one that has even thought of what the breadwinner left with an infant or children has to take care of. A prudent person would have enough insurance to take care of child care needs or to hire a nanny for 24/7 for several years. I don't know the cost of that in California, but I'm sure it's pretty steep. 250k may not be unreasonable.
I live in a low cost area, and I carry 500k on myself and 100k on my wife. Once the youngest gets to 14 (5 years), we'll convert the 100k to paid up coverage for her final expenses out in the future. Those (hers)will likely be taken care of by the kids using the insurance since I'm seven years older.
Before I jump to any conclusion, I'd want to find out if he bought it on the advice of a planner.

Tryin' to be a "chick magnet."
Guarantee you, now that he's a "jailbird" he'll have women swarming all over him (figuratively, of course, since the only action he's likely to get is that which he undoubtedly doesn't want).
I'll bet he's put away for some time--even if he gets "death" he'll probably be in stir for twenty years before they ever push the plunger on him--and gets married to one of these bimbos that just LOVE a man in "uniform."

Oh, don't forget his murdered wife and son are classified "hispanic."
So it's also a Federal "hate crime."
He REALLY screwed up, not being born a person of color.

Don't you think that if the bodies had been in the water for
four months some of the scavengers in the bay would have
devoured the flesh? A few days I would believe, since Christmas, I don't know.

Barabbas, a.k.a. Mark Fuhrman.
Funny, all these "Mark Fuhrman is the scum of the earth" types here on FR have grown strangely quiet since he almost single-handedly won justice for Martha Moxley, and has been a fascinating commentator on issues of criminal justice on the Fox News Channel.
Who'd'a thunk such a racist bigot homophobe would have a brain?
