It's yellow, but not French

The company that makes French's mustard wants Americans to know the spicy condiment isn't French.

It's British, but that's beside the point.

The article is a little dated but my sister tells me she just watched a segment on the local news where French's Mustard has had to reiterate to the public through a press release that they have nothing to do with France. In fact, the spokesman said that "The only thing we have in common with France is that we are both yellow." My sister swears that is what he said. Anyway, it just goes to show that the boycott is having a real effect if even companies that have have nothing to do with France are being affected on account that they are confused with being French.

I can't blame the French's mustard people for doing this. I wouldn't want to be mistaken for French either. The French's mustard people are smart enough to know that the boycott on French products IS having an effect and they don't want to lose money due to a misunderstanding. They're playing it smart.
