MSN story on Petterson and adv for Mother's Day Flowers. Did anyone see this? SORRY - I'M NEW!

Okay, I'm really sorry. Did anyone see this? This is my first time posting, although I've been a lurker for a long, long time. I was absolutely disgusted when msnbc.com had an advertisement for Mother's Day Flowers in the middle of the Laci Peterson story. I'm sorry, but I am so appalled by a network that would have an ad posted for Mother's Day Flowers with a story about this poor woman who not only lost her life but a child also. What jerks!

To be fair, MSNBC truly has no control about what ads appear on your cable system at any given time.

Not sure that is true.

I understand that when an airplane accident happens, all airline ads are pulled for a few days. If that is true, they do have some control on it.

That having been said, mistakes happen. I'm sure it was not planned.

Unfortunately, events overtake advertising.

Hong Kong, where people are dying from SARS, has ads running in magazines around the world right now promoting tourism with the slogan: "Hong Kong: It will take your breath away." Too late to pull the ads but in very bad taste.
