You're misinterpreting the word "tip".

You're thinking of "tip" as a breathy voice calling in to the police station, "i know where laci's body is; go down to the pier and under the 4th rock to the left.."

But the tip was more like, "ohmigod, I was walking my dog and i saw what i think was a dead body; somebody come out here real quick".

You're watching too many old TV detective shows. :-)

Paul Flores (shown above) was the last person to see Kristin Smart. After originally giving conflicting stories, Flores has since refused to cooperate with police, and has dropped out of school. The investigation has been hampered by the fact that before it was begun Flores was allowed to remove all of his belongs from his dorm room prior to the start of finals without supervision. Since that time Paul has continued to evoke the Fifth Amendment, further hindering the investigation.

Don't know, but I was wondering: you use a valuable call from jail (which I always thought was one) to call your "best friends", not your lawyer or family?

Shortly before a news conference concerning missing Modesto, Calif. resident Laci Peterson, television news trucks line a street in front of the Modesto police department, Tuesday, April 15, 2003. Authorities are investigating whether a body found Monday along the San Francisco Bay belongs to Peterson, a pregnant Modesto woman reported missing last Christmas Eve.

Police tried to determine on Monday whether the decomposed bodies of a woman and a fetus that washed ashore were Laci Peterson and her unborn child, whose disappearance last Christmas Eve became a national mystery.

The newspaper is quoting the anonymous source, not the citizen's tip. It appears to describe police findings, rather than what the citizen said--although it does seem a bit confusing.

Goatee of Mendez?

Baphomet / Goat of Mendez

Baphomet-Goat God of the Knights Templar. This image has inspired both fascination and misunderstanding. While based on the famous Eliphas Levi drawing, our representation is an original adaptation. Neither male nor female, neither human nor animal, the Baphomet shows us “As above, so below.” The torch of illumination between the horns, the cadeusus, the 5-pointed star on the forehead and the inscriptions Solve and Coagula on the forearms…these layers of symbolism encourage the emancipation of the will from servitude and the dissolution and reformation of the self.

Thankyou runningbear for the pictures. The photos give those of us unfamiliar with the area a perspective of where the bodies of Laci and Connor washed up on the shore. The deck of cards picture with Scott,in the last frame you posted, brought a smile to my face.

If he thought he could weigh her down with ankle weights he is dumb.

From the sounds of this and some of Rita Cosby's reporting, he may have used multiple methods of submersion control. Wrapped in a tarp with fishing line and hooks connected to weights and cement blocks was one scenario. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that he used several methods to help insure the results.

Some of the talking heads are speculating on this as a crime of passion citing the possible discovery of the affair. They say there is no evidence of premeditation. Hello? New boat never used that nobody knew about? Cement? Statements to girlfriend about a dead wife. Not well thought out but premeditated none the less.
