Paul Flores (shown above) was the last person to see Kristin Smart. After originally giving conflicting stories, Flores has since refused to cooperate with police, and has dropped out of school. The investigation has been hampered by the fact that before it was begun Flores was allowed to remove all of his belongs from his dorm room prior to the start of finals without supervision. Since that time Paul has continued to evoke the Fifth Amendment, further hindering the investigation.

well, the SLO PD and SLO Sheriffs are not the best invesigative body in CA. I remember when two other girls disappeared later, the local authorities were frozen. Eventually the FBI was called in, and after looking who was recently parolled into the area, solved the crimes in a week. That area seems to have a lot of student murders, suicides, etc.
