If he thought he could weigh her down with ankle weights he is dumb.

From the sounds of this and some of Rita Cosby's reporting, he may have used multiple methods of submersion control. Wrapped in a tarp with fishing line and hooks connected to weights and cement blocks was one scenario. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that he used several methods to help insure the results.

Some of the talking heads are speculating on this as a crime of passion citing the possible discovery of the affair. They say there is no evidence of premeditation. Hello? New boat never used that nobody knew about? Cement? Statements to girlfriend about a dead wife. Not well thought out but premeditated none the less.

It has to be premeditation. His actions don't resemble what you'd expect from someone who accidentally killed, then tried to cover it up. His arrogance has premeditation written all over it, IMHO.

I believe it was premeditated as well.. in hearing the discussion on Fox about motive.. IMO the motive was that Scott Peterson knew if he divorced his pregnant wife due to the affair, he would be looked on by his family, friends in a very negative light.. (look at what they have said about his character).. being an outcast was to him worse than just having his wife 'disappear'.. maybe Laci Peterson had not known about the affair YET.. and he was fearful of her telling the families.. just speculation of course ...
