Actor Tim Robbins pleaded with listeners at the National Press Club yesterday to "defy the intimidation that is visited upon us daily in the name of national security and warped notions of patriotism" after calling some members of the press "Aussie gossip rags" and "talk-radio patriots."

Just don't see their work. I could never watch "Shawshank Redemption" again. I just think Robbins relished the idea of taking the advantage of a fallen Christian. These are the kinds of stories Hollywood pride themselves with. .

This guy is no kind of American. His little press op was on C-SPAN this morning along with that Win With Out War nitwit. This is the same group of communists who hide behind the different facades of the National Council of Churches, and the other usual suspects. Everyone has seen the man behind the curtain.
Can someone catch me up to speed with the 50,000 black votes that weren't counted in FL election during 2000? Robbins says that is one of the great scandals of modern times. I missed it somehow.

He and his nit wit mate are actually angry that opinions, other than theirs, are actually being stated! Don't you just love it!? And, sorry, we all have choices... the American institution of baseball CHOOSES not to have them connected. Have a great day!

I saw this pathetic display at the National Press Club. I truly pity the janitor tonight because there's no doubt Robbins & Co. left a lot of SLIME.

Well his little tantrum is paying off - look at all the attention he is getting.

Our soldiers are fighting the enemy and Timmy is having a tantrum because he was uninvited to an event. Our soldiers are being shot at, Timmy is complaining because the public did not fall in line with his views and instead stood up and called him on them.

Gee - he really needs to get over himself doesn't he. He just really is not quite as important as he thinks he is.

Some have forgotten that this site has "Defending the Constitution" -- not the war, and not Bush -- on its logo.

[...] FreeRepublic.com, a pro-war group

From a distance, who can tell otherwise?

[...] Kathy Wood [said:] "They are all hypocrites."

Where were you when Clinton had his splendid little war in Kosovo and Serbia, Kathy? Were you like Trent Lott, who "reserved the right" then to disagree with the president? ... Oh, I forgot, that was Before Free Republic, so any hypocrisy from then is inoperative (quoth Ron Ziegler, R.I.P.).

Free Republic "pro-war"? Like hell it is. Pro-power for "our man in the White House"? Yes.

Apparently Tim Robbins can't stand being shown up. No wonder he's rattled. The Left no longer sets the agenda in this country and Robbins' performance is living proof of it.

BINGO!

He confuses his rights with the opportunities to exercise those rights. No right exists to ignore and encroach upon the interests of others in the exercise of those rights without accountability.

Everybody likes to win, nobody likes to lose,...Robbins lost and his feelings are hurt. All the more reason for any good sportsman or sports institution not to endorse his behavior.

If you can't stand the heat...

Here are my thoughts.

Mr. Robbins gripes about ramifications for those opposed to our current administration. Well, what about ramifications for those opposed to X42 the rapist.

A lot of good honest decent inocent people who opposed the previous aministration were subjected to random IRS audits, threats of being sent toprison, even some people were murdered at the hands of his cronies in blue uniforms in places like Arkansas.

So, yes there does need to be ramifications for opposition to our current asdminstration. People like Tim Robbins think they're special just because of their political beliefs and as such they think they're entitled to special and prefferential treatment but that's not the way the real world works.

If people want to boycott becuase of disagreements over stuff like this, that's their perrogative, Robbins and his kind need to learn to live with it. He and his kind are not that special of a group.
Regards.

"It is proven that the western tyrants and infidel invaders show no respect to our secret operative Tim Robbins. It is most unfortunate that our good friend Robbins must continue to live in that nest of vipers, the evil United States. We Iraqis would invite Robbins and his woman to move back home to Baghdad, but their aircraft is unable to land at Saddam Airport because of all bodies the villenous invaders that have committed suicide on the runway, and whos stomachs are roasting in hell on the gates of Baghdad. I am sure of this!"

Robbins reminds me of a 9th grade radical who just read a book about protesting authority.

You've been registered at FR for a long time so you should know that the DC Chapter, myself included, was outside the White House protesting Clinton's actions when he wagged the dog by bombing Iraq before he was impeached and again when he committed our troops to action in Kosovo. We were still there when Clinton bombed the aspirin factory and sent cruise missiles to an empty camp where he just missed Osama Bin Laden by an hour or two (drat the luck) -- he was attempting to change the focus from himself and Monica Lewinsky's testimony before a grand jury and was not serious about ridding the world of a terrorist. (God Bless the Dress!)

Free Republic "pro-war"? Like hell it is.

We spent 15-20 minutes with the Washington Times reporter and this is all she could include in her article. She has been told many times that we do not consider ourselves "pro-war." We are pro-America, pro-troops; we support our troops and leaders when it is necessary to go to war, we support the Constitution and the Rule of Law -- so this is her own interpretation and what she wanted to classify us as in her report. This reporter definitely knows a lot about Free Republic since she spent an entire day in our company on January 18, 2003 at the Patriots Rally for America III in the morning and outside the Marine Barracks all afternoon as the ANSWER anti-war crowd marched past our position.

You would think that he makes enough money to buy a comb or hair brush. Is he professor Irwin Corey's illegitimate son?
