'Knight Rider' Heads to Big Screen

Mon Apr 14, 9:06 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The 1980s television series "Knight Rider" and its crime-busting, talking car are revving up for the big screen.

The drama starred David Hasselhoff (news) as Michael Knight, owner of the high-tech Pontiac Trans Am known as K.I.T.T. The film is planned as an action comedy, Daily Variety reported Monday.

This time, Hasselhoff will serve as executive producer for the Revolution Studios project, the trade paper said. Glen A. Larson, who created the TV show, is among the producers.

It's not yet known who will star in the film.

Woohoo!!

I had a crush on K.I.T.T.

Hmmm... wonder if Mel Gibson could fill "Knight Rider's" role...

:-)

You ever notice that the light bar on KITT looks a lot like the eyes of the Cylons in "Battlestar Galactica?

Both shows were created by Glen Larson you know. Could there be a connection? Exactly how many other talking cars do you know of? Did "My Mother the Car" actually talk? I don't know as I never saw the show but it's a good guess that it didn't have the red flashy thing.

We have distant relatives from Germany. They came to the US and visited us once. Naturally the first thing I asked them was if they loved David Hasselhoff. They actually got upset, apparently they get asked that a lot.

I never watched the A-Team and I have sworn off Hollywood.

Why I'm reading and commenting on this thread indicates this ol'boy is twisting off.

You think this time they will think to slow down the lights when they speed up the film to make us think KIT is going fast?

I'd rather see a big screen A-Team.

Or how about the Dukes of Hazzard? I doubt I would pay money to see it, but I sure would love seeing the P.C. crowd go apoplectic over it.

cmiiw, but was there not a very bad, very short-lived new Knight Rider show on tv sometime in the last few years? no, not that (equally insipid) Viper show... it had a team of drivers and a pack of various Intelled vehicles.
saw 30 seconds of it, lost many neurons, finally shuddered out of tharn and changed channels!
