Thanks, RC. I'm not able to keep up today...too many distractions...

Thanks for the re-cap RC! Had to step out of the office while it was on. I don't know what I'd do without ya!

No apology from the press again today as our military leaders have once again been proven right - the looting has settled down after only a few days - and the press has once again been proven wrong.
In spite of the overwhelming evidence that Iraq is making a great transition to freedom - members of the leftist press continue to state - in radio and press- that Iraqis were better off under Saddam Hussein.
The leftist press-wankers, annoyed by localized temporary water and power outages and sporadic expressions of freedom by the Iraqi people, choose to ignore the inconvenient fact that the Iraqi people post-war have more power, water, food, medicine available than pre-war...and no one to murder them for disagreeing with the organized Hussein crime bosses.
Horrors! The Iraqi people are free because of US and the coalition military forces under the leadership of SOD Rumsfeld, Gen. Franks and President George W. Bush. The leftist press chokes on the truth and chooses to lie.

Dear Syria,
My company has recently been putting on a trade show demonstration of our products very close to your neighborhood. The show is now over, but we a lot of demonstrators and unused stock left over. The transportation charges will be very high on these items, so we have decided to let them go at large discounts......

I don't think this flies. Oil was discovered in the ME ,what, 70-80 years ago? The ME wasn't a beehive of entrepreneurial spirit in 1920 or even in the 1200+ years before that.
No, I don't think "rich daddy" applies here.

You should be in military marketing! And I don't mean an arms dealer. :)

It's a quirky talent. I get in the "zone", heh, take about an hour to lower my heart rate after each briefing. Typing keeps me from punching the TV and concentrating on the words keeps me from yelling at the press (and annoying my neighbors). (^;

OMG! Are any of you seeing this report on MSNBC about the 22 orphans kept safe by the nuns??? Jim Bruton of MSNBC visited the orphanage with Marines today. These appear to be mentally and physically handicapped children...one infant with no arms or legs.
If you didn't see it, be sure to have some Kleenex close by when it comes back on.
I wish we had some way to send Barney tapes, spiderman dolls and Barbies to that orphanage.

I figure we'll be donating to many orphanages in Iraq--and Afghanistan.

Speaking of looting, here's something interesting on the museum looting I heard on Rush a little while ago. A caller phoned in and stated that record had been stolen along with artifacts. Well if true, there's only one reason to steal the records, and that's to try to cover up the provenance of the artifacts. Somehow I doubt that would occur to an Iraqi just running in off the street to try to grab something. And it definitely sounds like something Saddamn and his cronies would think of while carting the stuff off to sell...In which case, depending on when the stuff was lifted, there really isn't a darn thing we could have done about it.
To: mewzilla
I tend to agree with Rush. If these items were valuable, they'd have hustled them either into hiding or another country for safekeeping. There's probably more than a good chance the REAL items were sold off--or taken from the museum to be sold off--to collectors who don't ask questions and fakes put in their place.
I'm also VERY suspicious of the fires at the various government offices. They could very well be set to cover up various crimes committed by Saddam. If the records are gone, there's no paper trail.

Distraction is another word for disgust? How predictable that instead of a simple thank you to the President and the troops for taking out a major threat to
them, the left would push their army of busybodies and know-it-alls into every corner of Iraq and other US policy? UN? France? What does belly girl's sign say? "You shut the H*** up, (France, DNC, Russia, UN..). We'll save civilization."
I'm mass e-mailing this famous quote to the press today, as our press seems to lack basic common (historical, philosophical, ethical) sense:
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
-- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776.

Nothing will ever top the neapolitan number.
I really thought today's was a big nothing. Not my taste, but I don't think it would have popped out at me if everybody wasn't waiting to pounce on poor Torie's wardrobe these days. LOL

I saw it. We let them call the Mother Superior in Chicago on our cellphone and are looking for generators,we brought food.It was the kind of story I love. The children looked wellcared for and the premises immaculate. The children are lucky to have those nuns.
