Cyanide-Shooting Guns Found in Baghdad

.c The Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Soldiers searching homes in a Baath Party enclave on Sunday turned up weapons straight out of James Bond movies - among them suitcases that concealed submachine guns and air pistols that fired cyanide pellets.

The men of A Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, found 21 briefcases specially designed to hold Heckler and Koch MP-5K 9 mm submachine guns. The guns could be fired by pulling a trigger on the handle of the case. There were also several silencers for 9 mm pistols and a gold-plated MP-5 fitted with a silencer in a presentation case.

Next to the brief cases were two smaller cases holding air pistols. There were four magazines holding pellets for the pistols; they were labeled stinger, noise, tear gas and cyanide.

Outside the house in central Baghdad was a Soviet-era Volga sedan in which the troops found two 4,400-pound safes - empty.

This is the scary stuff, these weapons would allow terrorists to carry out assassinations much more easily.

Feinstein could take lessons from this guy. Notice that he is showing proper trigger control by NOT having his finger on it.

Indeed. I haven't seen a lapse in trigger control or muzzle awareness yet on the part of US troops in the news coverage. I, and probably yourself as well, had firearm safety drilled into us while in the Armed Forces.

According to people of Feinstein's ilk however, we're the ones that cannot be trusted to properly handle weapons.
I wish I had that shot of Feinstein waving that AK around on the stage with her finger on the trigger and a drum magazine in place to post here.

I saw a wallet holster for the Seecamp .32 at a gun show once, complete with hole for the trigger finger so you could squeeze it off as you handed it to a mugger.

Sort of a poor-man's H&K MP-5K briefcase submachine gun.

I think 45auto or shooter2.5 might have that photo somewhere.

Can anybody tell me if this is the same group of guys which Geraldo interviewed on TV yesterday - at the Baath party headquarters ...??

If so ... does this mean some clues were given as to the location ...??

Some gold-plated weapons were found at Uday's, too.

These people really had a thing about weapons and weaponry.

I'm thinking that the author screwed up. You cannot put 4 tons in any car, 800 pounds yes.

Trouble is finding the Seacamp in the first place.

I'd be willing to bet this one doesn't get destroyed.
A collectors dream, maybe we should see that the Sec.Def gets that one. A token of our esteem.

An old NYPD friend of mine used to carry a .22 or .25 Berreta 21 series in a wallet holster.

There is a police only store in LA, as the LAPD Acadamy as I recall. One of their toys is a baton with a single shot pistol built in.

Either Turk or Greek diplomats and VIP's have leather glasses cases that hold a 9mm pistol. It's a rectangular thing that looks like a small brick and if you fire it by squeezing a panel on the side. Lots of that kind of thing. The US Govt. has several similar weapons.

Dude, we're not looters.

All this crap needs to be gathered up and shipped to the West to be sold at auction, proceeds going to humanitarian relief in Iraq.

It would be kind of nice to see some of it on eBay.
