In a way that's good if they have to be chubby that at least they dress that way ---there are places where the chubby women are dressing like Britney Spears ---not a pretty sight.

LOL. You just described about 70% of the "Nuyorican" girls here in NYC!

Dude, I was just gonna say that. Riding MTA in the summer is scary. *Fat* women with rolls hanging down wearing the low cut down to there jeans with halter tops. Yuk. Low cut jeans are something I think should have size restrictions...if you're bigger than a 10, please reconsider wearing them, nobody wants to see your hairy sweaty fat rolls. (unless you're really really tall, then size 10 or 12 isn't so big) (ditto black leather super short minis...)

You may regret what you wish for. France has hundreds of nuclear weapons.

Charles Martel, Frankish (France) leader, defeated the Arabs and halting Arab advance in Europe (732AD). He must be spinning in his grave!

Look, anything that was part of the ancient Roman Empire is part of the West. That includes most of the Arab speaking countries; excludes Iran and Afghanistan; but includes Greece and the Balkans, both Christian and Islamic portions. Turkey (Anatolia) falls in there as well.

Even the most casual examination of the Koran will reveal that it is pretty much made up of the same materials as the Bible (definitely a part of the "West", or, if you are a purist as I am, the Westernmost part of ancient Persia).

When a writer draws up a false apposition, e.g. "The West vs. Islam", and then tries to predict the future, I find I have to treat him or her the same way I treat all other false prophets.

Besides, this guy's stuff is just too tedious to read!

When I was watching reports from Iraq and saw them giving 'thumbs up" and "thumbs down" signals, I wondered if that was a remnant of Roman rule.

I have been saying this for a while now. Middle Eastern populations flow into European countries until they become large enough to cow politicians (much like the illegals here in the U.S.). Islam enjoys the laws protecting religious expression until its adherents can impose Islamic law on the host country (parts of Africa, lower Asia). Tom Tancredo said Canada now holds about 100,000 of these "harmless immigrants". Parts of Michigan are beyond redemption and their influence can already be seen on that state's legislators.
That France is the first to fall can not surprise anyone.

I feel very sorry now for French girls who must live in terror of gang rape simply for living as a free European who does not wish to wear a veil or burka.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult, "moderate" Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

Uh, you heard it here first. I've been saying on FR forever that France was becoming an Islamist country.

No, I don't think he's afraid of violence by Muslims against Americans. He's afraid that any initial acts of violence by Muslims against non-Muslim Americans will generate reprisals that will compicate diplomacy overseas.

Now reread what you wrote - 'violence against non-Muslim Americans will generate reprisals that will complicate diplomacy overseas'. So you are saying she is essentially correct - he is afraid of violence by Muslims. That is why he went sock-footed to the mosques, had Ramadam celebration in WH, preached tolerance and threatened Americans, insulted the Christians, etc. He is afraid of them. "Complicate Diplomacy"? Well, I suppose if you think Americans fighting back would 'complicate diplomacy', you are probably right. What do you think the President would respond to Americans fighting back at terrorists?

You have brought me closer to her way of thinking than I was - and it is chilling.

Charles Martel is turning in his grave.

In case you are wondering who Charles Martel was, he was the King of the Franks who defeated Muslim invaders in 732 A.D.

To an extent, we're on the same wavelength

I think that an initial campaign of violence by Muslims in America (ranging from mob intimidation up to Israel-style suicide bombings) will get the US middle-class sufficiently fed up that they will not care about "observing the civil rights of the poor Muslims".

The response will be seen as "oppression" by overseas Muslims, and lead to a spiral

Canada is not completely lost yet.

Just close the border for a few weeks and Canadians will
come to their senses.

Europe is lost, the whole lot.
No point in setting up cordons sanitaires like
in the bolcheviks days.

Our only hope lie with the star war defense shield.
