Interesting live footage on CNN
Posted on 04/12/2003 9:27:32 PM PDT by saquin
CNN reporter Brent Sadler traveling on a road very near Tikrit. The retired military officer in the studio keeps telling him to be careful. I find these live shots very nerve-wracking. It seems rather foolish for a reporter to be doing this, considering that Tikrit is a Saddam stronghold. Just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.

Well, if we only boycott CNN, what are we telling the others?
MSNBC is hooked to ITN and FOX has not divorced itself from Sky News. Both of which are doing the same crap.
The entire U.S. media needs to do a total reappraisal of the ethics regarding reporting in a controlled state.

This is excellent video. Not so much in itself, but because it's the first video from Tikrit, and it seems to show that there's no one left in control of the city. No one's even challenging Sadler. These guys are begging for a Darwin Award.
They are essentially performing a live televised probing reconnaissance of the highway leading into Tikrit. They may call it news but they are, in effect, spying. If any Saddam Fedayeen show up, it's not going to be pretty.

Now that's stupid, considering ali babba's (sp) and terrorists out there. Someone said another CNN reporter was kidnapped and almost killed. You'd think that would cause some of them concern about travelling alone.
Watching Rick Leventhall with the guys in 223rd. Got a haircut. Boring compared to CNN's daredevils I guess.

They can put the award in the guy's casket. He's crazy! Of all the cities to be going into alone that has not been cleaned up yet.

Well, if we only "remove Saddam", what are we telling the others?
As problems are fixed, subsequent problems become smaller.
Find a truth and act on it. The rest will follow.

Do you think those were tag-a-long soldiers he passed?

Maybe there is a little bit of desperation behind this, considering the recent admissions by CNN.

Must be from the soldiers that were hiking on foot the previous night.

I thought we were getting ready for the "Battle of Tikrit". Shouldn't there be Coalition bombing going on here?
