In Memory of the Prison Artist

"Locked within the tyrant's cell
Powerless to escape this hell

Stripped of all humanity
With no way out, no way to flee

The things I once thought somehow mattered
Now utterly worthless, illusion shattered

All I think of now are my children and wife
More important to me than my very life

My imprisonment has forced me to measure
To recognize my only treasure"

We surely do hold them in our highest memory - and thank them each and every one for our precious gift of freedom so dear to us all.

Man, that breaks your heart wide open.

My son will be returning soon from the sandbox. I just rocked his little boy to sleep.

Hope the anti-liberation crowd are looking at these.

Real men cry
It's not a sign of weakness
But of strength
Of a heart of loyalty
And love

bttt.

To all those that criticize our nation, our government, for taking this action, I would respect your concern if I heard you also respecting the young men and women that have given their life, when asked by their country.

They have paid the price for our freedom, with their lives. Those that use the media to voice their opinion should remember what it costs to keep the right to protest. The irony is that it is the one's not protesting that must pay the tab.

P.S. The people here on FR are some of the most wonderful people in our country. They understand the 'price of freedom'.

Powerful pictures, my friend. For those of us who have been on the receiving side of one of those flags, it's a very proud, humbling, and sad moment.

My heart aches for the families left behind, but my American pride stands stronger than ever. God Bless these soldiers.
