The War in Iraq is Wrong
Posted on 04/09/2003 9:46:29 AM PDT by Jonathan AG
Ban me, but have the courage to accept the truth.
This War is wrong. Many innocent Iraqis have died. Many Americans have died.
Iraq is in chaos. No food. No water. No power.
I don't care if staged events involving a few criminals and looters make the people appear to be happy. Ask the ones who had their lives destroyed by American bombs.
There are no WMDs. America will remain in Iraq long enough to:
A) plunder its resouces
B) ensure a Bush election victory in spite of massive deficits and a terrible economy.
THIS WAR IS WRONG.

If it's appropriate to ask those who've lost loved ones to our war against Saddam about the legitimacy of our actions, is it not equally appropriate to ask those who've had their lives and families destroyed by Saddam's evil regime?
Might not the issue be decided on the bais of which path is more likely to prevent further evil in the future?
Is silence (and inaction) in the face of evil also not evil?
Are you not evil in defending Saddam and arguing against his removal?
Do you agree with the concept of a just war? Yes or No.

I just saw Roger Moore (James Bond) on TV. An interviewer asked him about the statue being pulled down and the FIRST THING he said was:
"Well, we need humanitarian aid in there".
A sort of liberal "nothing to see here folks -- keep moving". Pathetic that someone can't, for even two seconds, appreciate the fact that so many human beings are acquiring their first taste of freedom.
A woman living in Iraq said today, "I'm 49 years old, but my life begins today".

Wow...what insight you have, Jonathan AG...thanks so much for sharing your brilliant perception.
I coulda sworn the joy in Baghdad this morning was genuine...my mistake.
So, uh...are you Tom Daschle? Are you French? Are you Michael Moore? Are you awake?

-Many innocent Iraqis have died. (But how many would have died ANYWAY, if the US and UK had not intervened and sprung all the prisons open?)
-Many Americans have died. (Define "many". The ratio of Americans killed to the number in the theater is extraordinarily low.)
-Iraq is in chaos. (Iraq was ALREADY in chaos.)
-No food. (Resources had been poorly allocated before the liberation.)
-No water. (Also, a further indication of the chaos that had already engulfed Iraq BEFORE liberation.)
-No power. (Policy decision of the Ba'athist regime in the last hours before being made entirely irrelevant. NO coalition action was ever directed at the power grid.)
-I don't care if staged events involving a few criminals and looters make the people appear to be happy. (Nobody could have staged that demonstration in Paradise Square, where the statue was pulled down. Remember the Berlin Wall?)
-Ask the ones who had their lives destroyed by American bombs. (A very distinct minority, about equal to the number in the Fedayeen Saddam and the Republican Guard.)
-There are no WMDs. (They have all been transferred to Syria. And yes, we will probably go looking there next.)

Ban me, but have the courage to accept the truth. Isn't it remarkable how the mentally-challenged don't see the humor of using "it's the truth!" as a rational argumentation point?

Wrong? WRONG?
Seems they think YOU'RE the one who is wrong:

Sure, that is "staged". You can get the Iraqi people who are SUPPOSE to hate us to kiss the MARINES. /sarcasm
These people are more delusional than ever. Next we will be hearing that it was all Bill and Hillary Clinton's idea to liberate them. If we wanted to dominate the country I kind of doubt all of these wonderful military men and women would be talking about wanting to GO HOME as soon as they FINISH THEIR JOB. Dumb, dumb, dumb *ss people.
If we wanted "their oil" we would just TAKE IT! We would have TAKEN IT YEARS AGO if that's what this was about! Damn liberals make me sick!
Here we have honorable men and women GIVING THEIR LIVES for the FREEDOM of the IRAQI PEOPLE and stupid jerks like this can't figure it out. Some people will NEVER GET IT! I don't plan on spending any time in trying to explain it. Let them stew in their hatred of anything Bush or conservatives. They will be in the MINORITY for YEARS to come. Reasonable people would take another look at their logic before they make an *ss of themselves.

No Jon, we don't want to ban you. We want to play with you for awhile.
This feels almost as good as when the Supreme Court stopped Gore from stealing the election.
