Wow....very cool, FBD...especially like that call home feature on the thermostat. Me thinks this year I'm going to end up replacing my 20 yo furnace to something *slightly* more efficient since my Feb. heating bill for 1000 sq ft condo was $187. (yikes!!!) That and my thermostat's funky...I have it set on 67 and the temp in the house is shorts weather....*shrugs* I miss my daddy...he did all that stuff for me....I'm independent to a point...it stops and painting and wallpapering! :O)

Next house...I'm building me a log house! I already have my plans, had them for years, so there will be no changing my mind with the contractors. I'm a woman who knows what she wants! LOL

Only half said tongue in cheek there friend, right? Many a corporation has gone to this level of hijinx. It would not surprise me to see Ford actually do something like this, if they could find a law, and a politician willing to have his palm greased...and how tough is that?

I believe the Marriott Hotel did this basically, using the ADA handicap accessibility requirements brought about by regulations, when they were first imposed. They got involved w/ politicians and 'crats who were working on the ADA requirements, and influenced how the laws were written, and thus had an advantage over the competition as to the needed changes.

Dare I say, the word you use, "corporatism"? And did not the really intense lobbying and EPA type regs, begin in ahem... *1970*?

I believe that's right...the EPA (founded in 1970), and many of these other fine bureaucracies started in the 70's. And along with the every new regs, comes a lobbyist, and a new way for politician to get campaign money from corporations, via a “protection racket.”
Which is where you need to look if you want to get to the bottom of "corporatism" and Tommy / Linda Daschle type politician/lobbyist shenanigans...In my Humble opinion, of course!

And a way around the regs...was to move the operation overseas to some third world country. Right?

Or am I missing someting, regarding "corporatism"?

We ain't all bad! *sniff snort* my clients love me at least. *sniffles* What I think is I'm going back to my corner because I'm doomed you (and 'Dru, apparently) have a really jaded view of marketing people. Ya lump marketing in with sales, and that just ain't right! *sigh* My marketing is NOTHING like what you both are saying. There's the "used car" type of sales, and there's the "this person is knowledgeable, open & trustworthy" type of marketing (the second one would be me!)

All of my clients/assoc. members just absolutely love me :o) I provide the best damn service ever....so if all y'all don't mind, I'll just *sniffles* go back and talk with people who appreciate me *sniff* and I'll take my *sad puppy eyes* with me

Log houses are Da' Bomb.....I'd never be in a bad mood again if I lived in a log house :^D Yes, I know, when I was in your area last year, there's one I absolutely LOVE right on the cliffs at Cannon Beach ...perfect house, perfect setting! :O) (and probably a pretty price too!)
