Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

When do the "2 billion dead Iraqi innocent women and children" lies start on CNN?
To: Solson
Amazing, INDEED! This will be a real eye opener for the WHOLE Arab world and I pray this will go a long way to healing all of the wounds that have been inflicted to the Western world and quell all the hatred towards the US. There are still many fanatic Muslim Madmen still at large, but their number are dwindling thanks to this devotion to the War on Terror. The sooner we rid the world of the likes of Al Jazeera and Leftist-Press,(wankers) the sooner we can get back to all "GETTING ALONG"

Sad to say, he's getting high praise from HQ for his work today.
(He can count! all the way up to 18!)
Anyway, we'll just never know what he would've done if there had really been a long battle for Baghdad.

It's very informal, and uniterruptedThe Saturday night the week before he died, MSNBC spoke with David Bloom. First they couldn't get the audio to work so they spoke with him and his sound guy was relaying questions from the studio. Then they broke away and went back to him about 10 minutes later with sound up. They proceeded to stay with him for 25 straight minutes. I was transfixed as they were in motion through the desert thousands of miles away.
I looked for his reports...

I can't share your optimism. In spite of all of the positive news today, the left is busily putting a negative spin on everything. People that I have spoken to who were against this war, remain defiant and adamant that it is unjust and unnecessary. Nothing will shut these people up, but maybe it will effect real changes for the Iraqi people.
To: cyncooper
Me, too. And, think, Bloom was working without script or teleprompter.
This guy's a total turd. He'll go far at ABC.

Great picture. I don't know whether or not Iraqi men are friendly with little kids like this.
But Americans definitely are -- stuff like this has got to make a huge impression on the regular folks over there.
