Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

I love it...the gov't officials are "no where to be found".
I heard overnight on Fox that they reporters went to work yesterday morning and their minders didn't show up!
To: Solson
After what they just witnessed the past 3 weeks in Iraq, I believe most of the "other" Mideastern cities / countries will be redefining certain things.
Powell & Bush now bring a new set of "values" to the negot table.. It will be interesting to see the pressure / evolving of the situation in Syria where WMD & possibly part of SH's family is..

" Leave it to the Communist "News" Network to break out the whiner stories "
I think Miss Judy missed her calling-she should have been a greeter at a funeral parlor. She seems to revel in the death count. As painful as each and every American loss is, there are 199,900 American military members, still alive in theater.

"I just wanted to remind everyone to make the effort to say thanks PERSONALLY - when we see members of our armed forces in society (like in stores, gas stations, airports, gatherings, etc...)"
Absolutely. I live near Los Alamitos Naval Air Station (CA) and frequently see members of the military in places like Baja Fresh :). You can bet I'm going to be thanking them and shaking their hands next time I see them.
To: Mo1
